From as far back as I can remember I have suffered from low self esteem. It may not seem like it from what you guys read here on my blog and other social media outlets, but it isn’t all rainbows and pix dust. I love myself and my family but one negative word can set me down a path of self doubt that will throw off my confidence for days or even weeks.
Did you know that 52% of girls think that negativity they see online damages their confidence?* It’s true that some corners of social media (and the internet at large) can make us feel less-than-amazing sometimes. It’s important to remember that our words have power – and now, there’s a great way to remind ourselves, thanks to Dove.
Choose Dove and support building self-esteem in 20 million girls by 2020.
Dove is encouraging women and girls to change the conversation and make social media a more positive place for beauty and body confidence. It all begins when you head to Target, and pick up three of your favorite Dove products to get a free #SpeakBeautiful bracelet. Then, every time you type, you’ll look down and be reminded to put a positive message out there! It’s a beautiful thing.
A few of my favorite things from Dove are their deodorants. I know having 3 different deodorants could be considered a little excessive but I like them for different things. One stays in my bag, one stays in my gym bag, and one stays on my bathroom vanity for all the time use. I love their shampoos, conditioners, and body wash, too. I am sure you will have no problem picking out 3 amazing Dove products that you already love or will quickly become obsessed with.
If you have Twitter, do the Dove #SpeakBeautiful effect and encourage readers to do the same. Here’s how to get it: RT this tweet and they will respond with a link to a microsite to receive their analysis!
I am seriously impressed by the positive initiative that Dove has taken on over the last few years and I am continuously impressed with their efforts. I plan on heading to my local Target to pick up more Dove items like their Dove Cream Oil Ultra Rich Body Wash that I have had my eye on and you should too!
