Keeping healthy is the one necessity that everyone has in common. I think it is safe to say that everyone has had a thought at one point in their life that they need to be better at getting healthy. Doing healthy things isn’t always easy or fun so most people tend to struggle with it. Today I am going to tell you 5 fun additions that I have added into my health routine that are totally making a difference in my life.
The first one is sort of a craze at the moment and that is playing PokemonGo. I am so thankful this game came out on our mobile devices at the beginning of summer because it has gotten me outside with my kids way more than I would have otherwise. I was recently in my hometown and instead of sitting around doing nothing like I expected it to be, I found myself at over 7 different parks and playgrounds walking around trying to find monsters and hatch eggs with my kids. An added bonus is that it has really been a bonding experience for me and my 10 year old who has loved Pokemon for years.
The second thing is start a challenge with your friends. My husband has been doing this for years with the guys in his squadron. There are a ton of social apps that track your steps/mileage and you can compete or monitor each other. A friendly wager, like the best parking spot or $5, can add a fun-filled competitive vibe that really motivates you to keep going. Before you know it you will have gone miles and miles more than you would do on your own. If you really wanted to, you can combine your running/walking challenge with playing PokemonGo and its a double-whammy.
Dance. Going out with your friends and dancing isn’t only good for taking your mind off of adulting, it is also an amazing way to get your body moving. Every time I have a girls night I always come back feeling refreshed mentally and physically.
Keep your mind sharp. This may sound a little out of the ordinary, but playing games and solving puzzles is a really great way to flex one of the most important muscles in our bodies, our brains. I like playing things like Sudoku, crosswords, and word scrambles. You could even cozy up with a good book.
The fifth and final thing I want to mention is vitamins. As I grow older I am more and more aware of how important it is to get my daily dose of vitamins. On top of taking a multivitamin, I have also been taking Biotin, Co Q-10, Calcium and even Melatonin to help me sleep a little better at night. The only problem with my interest in supplements is that I am a kid at heart and really dislike taking them in pill form. I have always struggled swallowing pills which has forced me to explore other options. I am so excited to have found Sundown Naturals® Adult Gummies in the vitamin and supplements aisle in my local Walmart. Yep, you read that right. Gummy vitamins for adults.
Each different vitamin has a different flavor and/or shape and consistency. I have really enjoyed all the flavors and I consider it a bonus that they help me curb my sweet tooth (which is my biggest obstacle when it comes to my health). There are a ton of different kinds in addition to the ones I take myself like Fish Oil, Vitamins A, B, &C, Probiotics, and so on. There is a quiz you can take to see which ones are best for you. Bonus: Sundown Naturals® are gluten and dairy free and they also contain no artificial flavors◊
