Blush is in the top 3 of my favorite cosmetics category. Trying new brands, formulas and shades can literally make me giddy. Besame Delicate Rouge in Raspberry was my most recent adventure in blush land and it did not disappoint.
BESAME COSMETICS
If you aren’t familiar with Besame Cosmetics then let me tell you a little bit about it.
Besame Cosmetics was founded in 2004 out of a fascination with art, history, and beauty; a vintage makeup brand which honors the style, spirit, and sensibility of female beauty.
Through a keen eye for color and historical expertise, they recreate modern reproductions of classic luxury makeup from the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s, designed to make women feel elegant, inspired, and empowered by their beauty. Pairing innovative, cutting edge technology with a historical milieu, their colors and formulations are painstakingly hand-crafted to a minutia of detail, from our custom-designed gold compacts to their signature chrysanthemum motifs. Based in Southern California, Bésame understands Hollywood’s ongoing fascination with the vintage aesthetic, and often helps production designers recreate accurate makeup displays for period film and television.
Delicate Rouge in Raspberry
Delicate Rouge was inspired by the pink cheeks created at the turn of the 20th century, when formal portrait photographers hand-tinted their first black and white images. This concentrated powder blush is as translucent and intense as pure watercolor. The formula contains no fillers, so there is no opaque residue on your skin, simply a lasting blush. Sounds amazing right? Well, I am here to say that it really is.
The blush in the pan doesn’t look like much and I was honestly pretty doubtful that once it got onto my cheeks that it would look like much, but after my first swatch of the product I could tell that it was pigmented and opaque and that I needed to have it in every shade. HAHA
