I don’t wear my hair curly very often but when I do it needs to have all the volume. I found a few products to help me achieve voluminous curls while taking part in the #SallyHairDare and I am a very happy girl. Let me start out by telling you a little bit about my hair. It is pin straight, flat to my head, and doesn’t hold a curl at all. Most of the time if I want my hair to hold a curl at all I have to use a ton of products and they are usually pretty expensive, which is always a huge downer. What I really love about Sally Beauty is that I can always find a new brand of beauty to love! So for this particular style this is the line up of products I used. GVP Moisture Shampoo, Cream Rinse and Intense Treatment as well as the Zotos Professional 180PRO TEASEless Volumizing Powder Shake!
The Moisture Shampoo and Cream Rinse are really nice. I have been coloring my hair a little bit recently and as we all know that can add slight damage to the hair. These products actually repair and rebuild damaged hair and they smell pretty amazing.
The Keratin Intensive Treatment is to be used once a week by applying a small amount to clean, damp hair. You let it sit for about 3-5 minutes and then rinse it out. It leaves my hair feeling so healthy and soft. I love this alongside the shampoo and conditioner. I have been getting into hair treatments a lot more lately and this one has made its way into my top 3.
TEASEless is sort of the star of this particular style because it provides buildable, moldable volume, texture & hold to effortlessly recreate “big” styles without the damage of backcombing and overstyling! And I should just face it, I have never mastered the backcombing technique so this is truly a life saver. After I completely dried my hair I sprayed this into the roots of my hair at different layers and it instantly gave me a vavoom look that I could have totally rocked on it’s own.
I pulled out my curling wand and seriously within about 10 minutes I had the curls you see below. Not only did the spray provide lots of volume, but it also acted as a hair texturizer which I really need in order for my hair to start building any curl. It really amazed me how well it took the curl without using any hairspray at all to set it.
To give you an idea of what I am working with, here is a before and after shot. On the left my hair is clean and freshly dried. As you see it looks really healthy and shiny but it is also flat to my head and not an ounce of volume. On the right the curls are bouncing out all over the place.
