You guys, a couple months ago I got this gorgeous GlobeIn Celebrate box in the mail and I never showed it to you. I recently pulled out a couple of the things in it to use and remembered I never showed it to you and that is just a travesty. In case you aren’t familiar with The GlobeIn Artisan Box, it is a subscription service puts together highly curated, artisan-made products from around the world.
There is a good mixture in this box and being a small business owner that makes everything myself, I have come to really appreciate hand crafted items. I love that everything in these boxes are beautiful, useful, and most importantly unique. They include a booklet in each box that tells you a lot about the product itself and the people that create them.
This box includes:
Hand-dyed Batik Table Runner from Ghana
The color is gorgeous and I quickly put it over the center of my dining room table. There is a small nick on my table that never has to be seen again. I also love that the fabric is durable and easily washed.
Upcycled Greeting Cards from Malawi
These cards are really nice. They have a thick feel to the paper itself and the fabric on the front of the card matches the accented flap of the envelope. There were two different designs in my box.
Beaded Necklace from Honduras
Tribe Alive is an ethical fashion commpany that believes there is nothign more stylish than giving back. To complete the order for your handcrafted, beaded tassel necklace, Tribe Alive commissioned twenty female artisans in Santa Ana, Honduras for whom the job provided three full weeks of wages, amounting to several months living expenses. Tell me that isn’t something to be proud of when you wear this gorgeous jewelry!
Muslin Bag from Haiti
The bag for the Tribe Alive necklace was made in Port Au Prince, Haiti. A group of 8-10 female memberes of the Haitian Design Co-Op hand cut, hand sew, and hand stamped these bags.
Organic Dark Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt from Domincan Republic
Okay, this might have been my favorite part of this box. I am a huge fan of dark chocolate and the flavors in this chocolate bar were amazing. So. Good. SERIOUSLY!
Palm Leaf Basket from Mexico
Each of these GlobeIn boxes comes in a hand-weaved basket with lid. For the people of the Mixteca region of Mexico, basket-weaving is a way of life that also sustains. With a dexterity passed down through generations, ancestry come to life in the tireless work of fingers, the weavers weave palms into vibrant, multi-colored baskets.
That was everything that came in the GlobeIn Celebrate box and I look forward to seeing what other boxes contain! Check it out for yourself!
