I have worn the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation a few times over the last few weeks and I want to tell you a little bit about my experience with the product. I recorded a video where I applied the foundation with no primer and no setting powder and wore it throughout the day. I didn’t do anything difficult with my makeup that day, just a little blush and bronzer. It was an everyday face of makeup and the results really speak for themselves.
Before I get too involved in talking about the video, let me tell you the claims of this foundation.
A breakthrough liquid to powder formula that absorbs oil, camouflages imperfections, and delivers a long-lasting velvet matte finish—without the need for touchups. In a consumer study, Immaculate’s advanced formula has been shown to improve the appearance of oily, acneic skin. It has an oil-free formula transforms from liquid to powder and dries down instantly to a longwearing velvet matte finish that never looks dull, flat or cakey. The ingredient Cashmere Kaolinite Clay plays an integral role. The advanced new clay has been shown to absorb 75% of its weight in sebum while retaining moisture in the skin. Unparalleled velvet matte finish eliminates the need for powder, blotting papers or constant touchups throughout the day. Immaculate has a weightless, airy and mousse-like texture.
So, let’s talk about the packaging first. It comes in a sealed bottle with a separate pump. The pump is fantastic because it allows the bottle to stay super hygienic which is actually a big deal, especially for someone with acne-prone skin. It also allows the product to be dispensed in just the right amount.
I have to shades, Shell and Natural. Shell is almost perfect for my skin. Natural is the one I THOUGHT would be the best fit for me, but it is clearly like 2 shades darker than my skin. Overall Shell is a great shade for my pale-but-not-transparent skin tone.
Let’s talk about the wear. I have worn it a few times. When I didn’t use a primer or set it with a powder it really did stay all day. I had some minimal wear around my nose, which I do with virtually all foundations, and my skin still felt velvety and smooth. My redness stayed covered and my skintone looked great.
In the video below I showed a speedy application process (which is what I am left with most days) and I checked in at the end of the day when I was EXHAUSTED FROM BLACK FRIDAY.
I have also tested the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation with a primer and with setting powder. The results were OUTSTANDING with both. I think that I am most forward to using this foundation during the summer because I can already tell that it will be my best bet with the heat. You can find the Hourglass Immaculate Foundation at Sephora.
