Confidence is something that I have struggled with off and on over time. No matter how much we think we aren’t affected by things, self-doubt can swoop in and take out our confidence just like that. Today I am going to share with you five things that I have been doing lately that really boost my confidence no matter what I am dealing with. I get upset over body image sometimes, just like some of my closest friends are cold sore sufferers and I know the toll they take on their confidence. That’s why they turn to Abreva® at the very first sign of their cold sore to heal it fast! Read below to discover other simple ways you can keep your confidence high.
1 || When you’re feeling sluggish: Put on some upbeat music! The power of music is infinite. I cannot tell you how many times I have been down in the dumps and then one of my favorite songs comes on and before I know it I am grooving in my seat a little bit not even thinking about whatever it was that was bringing me down just moments before.
2 || When you’re not feeling confident. Affirmations! These may sound so cheesy but they work. When you are doing your self-affirmations, you are incredibly likely to forget whatever it was that was bothering you before and are also likely to start a positivity spiral. More self-confidence leads to bigger goals and when you achieve those goals it leads to even more self-confidence. Big things can happen and don’t let anyone try to bring you down from that kind of a high.
3 || When you’re feeling bad. Do a good deed! Doing something nice for someone without any real expectation of getting anything in return is empowering. I try to do have some sort of random act of kindness on a weekly basis, and there are times where I can do it on a daily basis. It doesn’t have to be big, but when you are doing good things it makes you feel good.
4 || When you’re not feeling your best. Dress up! When you look good you feel good. I have been working from home for a couple years now and I can tell you that most of my days are lived out in super comfortable clothing which leads to me looking and feeling sloppy. The days I take an initiative to dress up and I always have a much better and more positive day.
5 || When you’re feeling down. Smile! No one can take this from you. And who can look at someone smiling and not contagiously smile right back? Starting a smile chain is also something I attempt to do a lot. Especially when I am not feeling my most confident. One simple facial expression has been known to change the entire outcome of someone’s day.
I hope that you take something away from these tips, even if it is something small. The best things can come in small packages. So whether you are feeling down in the dumps about something that happened at work or you are dealing with a cold sore, at least one of these tips should help you out.
