The weather has been changing a lot where I live and I am fairly certain it is where you are too. No matter what the change is, hot or cold, it sends my hair into frizz central. In the winter I get all sorts of frizzies and static and during the summer the humidity does me no favors either. Because my hair can sometimes be uncontrollable I have always wanted to go and get one of those expensive salon treatments but at the same time I don’t because, well… Expensive. As a beauty junkie I also really enjoy doing things myself at home so when I heard about TextureTame I was super intrigued and had to try it.
Before I jump in and tell you about each of these steps I want to talk to you a little bit about frizz and why it is caused. Frizz is caused by open hydroxyl bonds within your hair that are continually searching for moisture from the air. TextureTame calms your hair by penetrating the hair shaft, reaching the cortex of your hair and attaching the missing hydrogen molecule, which in turn stops your hair from getting poofy. Genius, right?
TextureTame 1 | eliminate
The first step is the part that actually treats the hair by sealing the water-loving hydrophilic bond within the hair shaft permanently. You want to apply eliminate treatment all over the hair and make sure it is fully saturated. Massage in the product and then go through your hair with the product still on your hair with a wide tooth comb. Let it sit for 30 minutes and then rinse out completely. You then want to lightly shampoo, rinse and then move to the next step.
TextureTame 2 | moisture lock
moisture lock actually completes the bond sealing process and should not be skipped. It ensures your hair stays smooth and unsusceptible to the weather. Amino acids and essential fatty acids are in this product to strengthen the hair and increase elasticity. This is actually a step that you want to use once a week as well.
Generously apply moisture lock to damp, towel-dried hair, comb through for even distribution, place a shower cap or wrap over your hair for 15 minutes, and then rinse well, lightly shampoo, and then move on to step 3.
TextureTame 3 | finish
Step 3 is finish and it is the final touch for healthy, silky, manageable hair. It is a lightweight leave-in styling serum that delivers shine by smoothing the hair’s cuticle without weighing it down. YASSSSS!!! As someone who has a hard time getting volume from my hair (without frizz being the causing factor) I love that this wont weigh my hair down. It can also preserve your hair’s color and strength by protecting against heat styling and UV exposure.
This product you specifically want to use daily. You apply a teaspoon amount to towel-dried, damp hair and then proceed to blow it dry and style your hair as usual. It can also be applied to dry hair for added shine and silkiness. I like to apply serums like this to my ends daily.
And here you have it. Before and after photos. On the left is what I got after washing and drying my hair. It is clean hair that has no extra product in it. On the right is after going through a full process with TextureTame. My hair looks more lustrous, it required very little time to achieve the look, and it will look like this for 3 full months as long as I keep using steps 2 and 3 as directed.
TextureTame is exclusively sold at Dermstore and they were nice enough to give me a special link for my readers to enjoy this set at 30% off. If you suffer from crazy frizz and want to shorten your hair routine then I suggest you give this a try ASAP!
