Can you even believe that the holidays are here again? It seems like I was just celebrating the holidays a couple months ago. This year flew by without a warning again, just like I am sure the holidays themselves will again. Who is ready for holiday shopping? I can barely get my groceries bought lately with how busy I have been so I can only imagine what this gift giving season will be like. Actually, while I was at Walmart a few weeks ago I noticed that they have a really fantastic selection of fragrances and it made me realize how the gift of fragrance is perfect in so many ways. I have mentioned this before here on the blog, but the power of scent is amazing. It can transport you back to a very specific moment in time so giving the gift of fragrance is so much more than a bottle of liquid. You are giving the gift of memories. Whether you are taking someone back to a fond memory or creating new ones, scent is definitely the sweetest way to do it. I am going to show you a few of my favorites that I saw on the shelves at Walmart on my last trip.
Elizabeth Arden Red Door
I don’t know what took me so long to try this fragrance. It smells so feminine and sweet; it embodies a blend of lily of the valley, freesia, wild violets, red roses, Moroccan orange flowers, jasmine, ylang-ylang, oakmoss, sandalwood and honey. Sandalwood is one of my favorite notes in a perfume and I like how sweet the other notes are in Red Door.
fantasy BRITNEY SPEARS™
I remember being so obsessed with it the year it came out and I still really love it! Its white chocolate and sweet cupcake scent makes is truly sensual and I think that a woman of any age would really love it.
Pink Friday Nicki Minaj
Surprisingly, Pink Friday is my favorite of the bunch. This fragrance may as well be named “My Newest Addiction” because not only is it mine, it is sure to be yours too. You will PROBABLY wind up buying one for yourself and a couple of your family and friends. Someone asked me to describe this scent today and I told them I think it smells like “sophisticated sweet” and it really does describe it perfectly. The best part of getting these fragrances at Walmart is that the price point ranges from $15-$30! I know that we set spending limits in my family and they are usually right around the $30 mark so this is perfect. Have you ever gotten or given the gift of fragrance? Tell me about it in the comments for a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card.
