The struggle with living a healthier lifestyle is so real. I have mentioned several times this year that I am on a mission to get healthy in 2015. I only have a few months left to make my dreams a reality, so I am sharing these 4 healthy living tips and tricks that I plan on using with you!
Making big adjustments immediately almost always fails so I find that starting small and building on it helps to ease you into any change. These 4 tips that I am sharing with you are all extremely simple and easy to do and will get you started on the right path.
Tip 1 | Move.
It sounds like a no brainer, but we live in a very sedentary world. When I was a kid my entire day was spent outdoors and so were my parents. The crazy amount of technological discoveries that has taken place during my lifetime has left us as a whole a lot less active. We sit in front of our computers, video games and virtual everything instead of going and doing. Go outside for 30 minutes every day and walk, run, or even bounce a ball. Something. Anything. Get moving.
Tip 2 | Water.
Again, another no brainer. Our bodies need water to survive and perform the way it is supposed to. Most of the time we are swapping out plain ole H2O for sugary sodas and sports drinks because, well… They taste better. By drinking water we are doing a ton of fantastic things for our body that those sugary drinks do not, so just commit to getting your proper 6-8 glasses a day. I promise you if you stick to it for just 1 week it will be much easier to keep doing.
Tip 3 | Plan.
Yep, you read that right. Plan your meals, workouts and even water intake. Failure to plan is a plan to fail, so get yourself on the right track by scheduling out your days, weeks or even months. Especially at meal time. When you are scrambling to get something cooked for the family at the last minute it will probably be something that doesn’t take very long and isn’t the healthiest.
A few weeks ago I actually meal planned my entire week on Sunday, bought everything I needed for all of the meals on Monday and it was insane how smooth the entire week went. I am forever convinced that meal planning is the best thing I have started doing this year.
Tip 4 | Snack.
Simple ingredients and portion control is always the best way to go about snacking but it can also taste great. Reward yourself for all of your fantastic health goal accomplishments with a delicious snack. With goodnessknows snack squares you know what you are eating and they are split up into perfectly portioned squares.
goodnessknows snack squares are an amazingly delicious and satisfying snack made up of whole nuts, real fruits, toasted oats and dark chocolate. They don’t have artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners which I find completely refreshing.
goodnessknows snack squares are available in three flavors:
cranberry, almond, dark chocolate | Packed with roasted almonds and toasted rolled oats with a hint of natural sweetness, this combination leaves you feeling happily satisfied.
apple, almond & peanut, dark chocolate | Crunchy peanuts, toasted almonds and tangy apples are the perfect combination for snack time, a treat post-meal or during your favorite indoor or outdoor activity.
peach & cherry, almond, dark chocolate | Sweet peaches and cherries accompanied by wholesome toasted almonds and dark chocolate to create a satisfying crunch.
They are all super delicious, but my absolute favorite is the cranberry, almond and dark chocolate. It satisfies all my cravings and all 4 bars that come in the package only total 150 calories.
Funny enough, when I was taking these pictures my daughter ran over and swiped the last one I had sitting there. You know when a 2 year old is stealing your snacks they are yummy.
Tell me in the comments below: do you think that you could stick with these 4 healthy living tips?
