I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Vanity Fair Lingerie. I received product samples to facilitate my review and compensation to thank me for my participation.
Last month I mentioned to you that Vanity Fair Lingerie was supporting the women with Dress for Success® by donating a bra for every one sold during the BOGOGO events. If you want more information on those events then check out my BOGOGO post for the remaining stores and dates. Today I want to tell you a little more about the program and what it does for women.
For starters, Dress for Success an international not-for-profit organization that is popularly known for its suiting program. They provide professional attire to women in need for job interviews. While the suiting program may be the confidence booster these women need to get the job they want the employment retention programs are the cornerstone of the organization. Dress for Success gives women the resources to help them get back to work and help them throughout their employment to progress into a position they dream of having.
Something I truly love about Dress for Success is that they promote confidence and professionalism by pairing their clients with staff members who work with them one-on-one. I can tell you from my experience with anxiety and depression that when I am at my worst I definitely don’t want to talk openly to a group about my troubles, so the privacy allows for women to be more candid and express what they really need.
Another interesting fact is that 70% of women that Dress for Success helps every year are mothers that are raising 2-3 children on average. They are supporting their families which means they are yearning to be self-sufficient. That means more than just having a job to these women. Heck, I know it means more than that to me and I am sure it does to you, too. Being independent in all aspects of life is what I want and it is what Dress For Success believes in as well.

Tell me in the comments below: What does a job mean to you? To me it means a lot of things. It means being able to provide for my family. A job gives me a sense of worth because I am providing something important. A job gives my life meaning which is the ultimate confidence booster.
