You know what makes my heart happy? Knowing that my favorite season is approaching. I have loved the autumn months since I was a little girl. Growing up in the deep south summer has always been too hot. It was always such a relief to feel the brisk air that seems to have a bit of electricity running through it come Fall. All of the fun stuff starts in the Fall: football, carnivals, the holiday seasons… Now that I am grown I get that same excited feeling every year around this time. Today I thought it would be fun to bring you a Fall inspired drink, a Plum Champagne Cocktail and I made it #EpicWithAndre. Andre has a fantastic range of California Champagnes and Sparkling Wines and they have been in the game since 1966! They originally offered sparkling wine at an affordable price, but the brand has evolved and now has lots of options that wont break the bank. From Brut to Moscato, there’s something for everyone and every occasion, so you can kick it all the time. Champagne is one of my favorite alcoholic beverages. Anytime you see it served it is typically to celebrate something. The bubbles always a crowd pleaser.
I live in a rural area and there is lots of farmland and livestock around my house. We have an apple tree that grows beside our house and our neighbor has plums and they are growing like crazy right now so we did a little swap and I thought that plum would make for a really interesting cocktail!
I boiled a plum and peeled it, I then made a puree of it and added a little pomegranate juice to add a pop of extra flavor to the puree because this set of plums were a little too sweet and I prefer them to be more tart. You may or may not want to add anything depending on your own preference.
- 1 plum
- 1 teaspoon of pomegranate juice
- Andre Brut Champagne
- Mint leaves
- Boil and peel plum.
- Blend plum and pomegranate juice until you make a puree.
- Pour the puree into the bottom of glass and pour the champagne overtop.
- Garnish with mint leaf.
I am actually a big fan of Andre Brut so I actually like to just drink it on it’s own, but I really love the extra yumminess the plum added. DEEEELISH! Check out Andre Champagne for yourself if you haven’t already, you will love it as much as I do!
