I am a pretty huge fragrance junkie and I have been my whole life. I think scents are extremely personal and can bring out so much emotion. For the very same reason I love one scent you could hate it. There are a few fragrances that I have had in my collection for a while and get lots of compliments on every time I wear them. I decided that these are the summer scents worth trying that will suit just about everyone.
Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio is one of my all time favorite fragrances. It wasn’t my first scent by any means but it was the first one I officially became obsessed with. It was inspired by the brisk and fresh essences of the sea, this scent begins with notes of lemon, cassis and mandarin followed by aquatic mid notes of freesia, hyacinth, and rose. The scent ends with sensual notes of musk, amber, and woods. It is such a bright yet sexy fragrance that you will have men and women alike asking you what it is! You can find it at Ulta.
Jo Malone Orange Blossom is actually a close second for my very favorite fragrance of all time. It is described as the scent of clementine leaves in the morning dew sparkles above a heart of orange blossom and water lily, transporting the wearer to a garden oasis. I PERSONALLY think it smells like honey suckles on a hot summer’s day. I grew up at the dead end of a dirt road surrounded by the woods. There was a blanket of honeysuckles that coated the edge of the woods and the scent was divine. This fragrance reminds me of happier times and always makes me smile. And maybe shed a single happy tear for my youth. You can find it at Nordstrom.
MAC Turquatic is a fragrance that reminds me of the start of my hot and heavy romance with the cosmetics industry. When I first started going into MAC stores this is the scent that would be screaming as soon as I walked in the doors. Not only is it an AMAZING scent, it has a pretty beautiful bottle as well. It is described as Crisp and energizing, and contains notes of anemone, lotus, orris and Corsican blue cedar. You can get this at Nordstrom.
Harajuku Lovers Lil Angel is such a cute bottle and was really a surprise to me that I started to love it so much. I started out using it by layering it with other fragrances but the more I wore it the more I would just use it. There are notes of Cranberry, Raspberry, Lollipop Accord, Pineapple, Violet, Hinoki Wood, Pear Blossom, Blackberry, Crystal Amber, Rose. It honestly had me at Pineapple. :) It has sadly been discontinued (I think) but I did find a link to it on Amazon and it is half price right now. Out of the entire Harajuku Lovers line, this was my favorite.
Demeter Sunshine. Demeter has a way of creating fragrances that smell exactly like you imagine the word to mean. Even though sunshine really doesn’t have a scent, it DOES nail it. Think of your favorite, most comfortable cotton T-Shirt left outside and warmed by the sun. They decided that cotton, warmed by the sun, was the smell that best represented the idea of Sunshine. It is simple, clean and amazing. You can find it at Amazon.
Beach Eau De Parfum is one fragrance that I think is really a must have. It was designed with a lightly intoxicating blend of sand, jasmine, sea spray and mandarin. Beach captures the atmosphere and attitude of summer and is wearable anytime, anywhere. Truly a summer scent worth trying. You can find it at Nordstrom.
