I am a huge monthly subscription box junkie. It seems like there is one for everything now-a-days, which really makes me happy. One that I recently had the pleasure of trying out is the Raw Spice Bar. It is $6 a month and you get 3-4 freshly ground spice blends from one geography or region, enough to create 3 dishes serving 8-12 people. I like it because it allows me to try something new, it is really unique and inexpensive.
The three samples I got this month are Aji Amarillo Spices, Pink Peppercorn Blend and Peruvian Spice Rub.
The Peruvian Spice Rub is perfect for just about any kind of meat but I tried this one in particular on chicken. It contains Smoked Paprika, Ancho Chiles, Cumin, Ground Black Pepper, and Mexican Oregano.
The Pink Peppercorn Blend is one that I particularly liked. It contains Pink Himalayan Sea Salt and Pink Peppercorns. Really simple ingredients but I think I am just partial to pink. And I do actually thing it looks super pretty.
Last but not least is the Aji Amarillo Spices were extremely aromatic. It contains Aji Amarillo, Coriander, Basil, Mustard Seed, Cumin, and Black Pepper. I actually used this in the recipes that are included in the subscription mailer.
Speaking of the recipes, I really like that it gives me 3 recipes to try that correlate to the sample spices included. I think that is worth the $6 a month on it’s own. All of the recipes included were pretty easy to follow and nothing was over my head so I call it a win.
Overall I think this is a fabulous subscription service and I think that anyone that tries Raw Spice Bar will be impressed as well! Sign up here!
