Thank you DriveShop for letting me drive the Kia Sedona minivan.
I never EVER, ever, ever, ever, ever thought that I was the minivan kind of person. When I got the opportunity to drive around a Kia 2015 Sedona SX-L I jumped at the chance because it is always fun to experience something new. That and for whatever STRANGE reason, my 9 year old son had just asked me to buy a minivan. Weird but true. Maybe one of his friends’ parents owned one? I have no idea but here is my experience with this spectacular vehicle.
First off, the very first thing that impressed me about this car is the back up camera. Not only do you get to see DIRECTLY behind you, but it shows you all four sides of the vehicle. I personally wish all cars came with this feature. As a mom of a toddler, I am always nervous backing up if she isn’t riding with me. Toddlers are elusive creatures that are too small to easily spot but they are old enough to sneak out of the house when you aren’t looking. It is one of my biggest fears that my daughter follows me out of the house one day when I am on my way to the store and I accidentally hit her. That ENTIRE scenario can be avoided with this awesome view of all four sides of the vehicle.
Another pretty awesome feature that I think really enhances the driving experience as a parent is this little flip down mirror. Raise your hand if you have moved your rear view mirror around to talk to someone in the back seat? o/ I know I have. This little flip down mirror right above the actual rear view mirror allows you to be able to watch your kids/passengers as well as keep an eye on what is going on behind your car. Great feature.
My son’s favorite feature was the moon roof. He loves them. The fact that there was one over HIS seat just blew his mind. Not something you get in a regular ole’ car. He also liked to do the next thing I am going to tell you about while looking out the moon roof.
These awesome seats actually lay back AND recline. This may be the perfect travel vehicle. I am convinced. What other vehicle has recliners as seats? These are options that you will only find in a minivan, I am sure of it.
I love that there is a 3rd row of seats but as someone that LOVES to shop I like that they also fold away and make room for groceries or whatever you made away with at the mall that day. Not to mention my son plays football and his gear is bulky so it can probably take up this entire section on a regular basis.
Overall I am OBSESSED with the Kia Sedona SX-L. It is probably my favorite car I have ever driven to date. The ride is smooth and all of the seats are extremely comfortable. It is as though you are traveling on a cloud, and I don’t even care if that sounds corny. It really does feel that way. I am pretty amazed. Check out this Kia for yourself!
Also, this wouldn’t be a post of mine if I didn’t share with you something gorgeous (other than the awesome minivan)! Isn’t this Pacific Northwest sunset just everything?
