I am of the personal belief that cream eyeshadows make the world go round so it should come as no surprise to you that I had to have the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows. I have two shades, Jean and Marie Antoinette. Jean is a light champagne gold shade while Marie Antoinette is a medium golden taupe brown. The look of Marie Antoinette on Nordstrom.com was a little deceiving which is why I ordered it. I thought it was going to be a lot deeper but I am still happy with it. It makes me want to order another shade because I didn’t get what I thought I was getting… but that has nothing to do with the review, just more so on the side of personal irritation. ha
So, as per usual I will start with the packaging. These little pots of frosted glass are actually quite gorgeous and sturdy. I do love the luxurious feel of glass with my beauty products but I am a huge klutz and drop things on a regular basis. I am always terrified I will drop it on the tile floor and it will shatter. Hasn’t happened yet, but I am weary.
These cream eyeshadows are great because they almost feel whipped, and lighter. They apply onto the eye lid and give you a little time to work with them and blend them out and then they set to a high shine finish. I really love a nice metallic eye and these are great options for that effect. The two shades I got in particular are perfect for a one-shadow-and-go look. I actually wore Jean (the one on the left) by itself a few days ago with some winged liner and mascara and it lasted all day long. My husband even said he liked my eye makeup that day, so SCORE. He usually doesn’t comment, and that is fine because I don’t wear my makeup for his amusement anyway, but it is still nice to be complimented. Wow, this post is just full of little tangents…
If you had the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in mind and were on the fence I hope that this review and swatch post was enough to push you over the edge because I really do like them. You can find them at Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter, Bergdorf Goodman, and I think that is it. :)
