I love vacations but I don’t love their price tag or even the actual planning and organization that go into major travel. Sometimes major travel turns out to be more stressful than you initially intended and you often will come back from vacation more exhausted than you started. When I think of a vacation I want to sit back, relax, do cool things and have fun.
When you really think about it you can do ALL of those things right from your own town, and even your own home. These types of vacations are lovingly called “staycations” and as you may have guessed, I am a huge fan. I am happy to share with you my 5 tips for the perfect staycation.
{one} Sleep in. The biggest thrill of going on vacation is doing something different or breaking up your normal routine. Sleeping in does two different things: it changes the pattern of your usual agenda and offers a bit more rest.
{two} Avoid major housework. When you go on vacation you don’t usually end up vacuuming the floors or washing the windows. Keep clean up light.
{three} Don’t cook. Cooking is work and it also creates work. After cooking a full meal (that could take hours) you then have a sink full of dishes that also need to be cleaned. Avoid all of that by simply going out to eat.
{four} Explore. Do some research ahead of time and make a list of all the fun things there are to do nearby. I personally happen to live across the street from the beach here in WA and I love going down there to spend the day. Also be mindful of concerts, sporting events, and other shows that will be showing during your time off. Be a tourist in your own town!
{five} Try something new! I have been loving the new Palm Breeze Sparkling Alcohol Spritz. My personal favorite is the Pineapple Mandarin Orange flavor, but it comes in Ruby Red Citrus as well. It is SO delicious and I am going to attribute that to the natural flavors inside these amazing drinks. The flavors are so complex that I am convinced I am drinking a fancy mixed drink.
The weather here in WA has been a chilly 50 degrees ever since I moved here a couple months ago and these fruity flavors remind me of a warmer climate and bring on all the relaxing memories! Perfect staycation material, definitely a staple.
Another thing I love about Palm Breeze is that their motto is Vacation Every Day! Anyone who knows me will tell you that I promote stress-free living, ahem #VacayEveryDay, and while sipping Palm Breeze I can’t imagine I would have any worries.
Now that I have shared with you my 5 tips for the perfect staycation I want you to share one with me. Tell me how you vacation at home in the comments below.
