Beauty tips passed down generation to generation are special. They are so deeply embedded into our routine that we don’t even recognize it as advice anymore, it just simply is what we do. The advice that has been passed down to me may seem like common sense (to me) but I assure you it is solid, sound beauty tips that would benefit anyone and everyone.
{one} I believe it was my sister who told me to never sleep in your makeup. This sounds like a no-brainer, but the damage that leaving your makeup on overnight does to your skin is just horrible. Clogged pores, breaking down of the skin… EEK! Nightmare.
{two} My mom told me not to pick at my face (and avoid touching it altogether) because it will make any issue you are having worse due to the transferring of bacteria.
{three} My grandma has always told me to change or clean my pillow cases regularly. This one isn’t one I hear a lot but it is definitely important. When I notice my skin is acting a little off I always do two things: deep clean my makeup brushes and wash my sheets and pillow cases.
{four} A friend of mine’s mother once told me to comb through wet hair, don’t brush. Wet hair can be hard to untangle so using a comb to separate it instead of getting it snarled in a brush will help keep your hair from breaking.
{five} My grandma once told me to wash my hands before cleaning my face. It makes perfect sense… Why clean your face with dirty hands? DOH!
