So, I am a mascara junkie and I was so excited when this Mystery Mascara showed up in my mail box a couple days ago. The idea of testing something out and not know what it is is pretty exciting. POPSUGAR and Sephora teamed up to create this Mystery Mascara #CurlPower challenge. Basically they sent a bunch of these out and we are all supposed to try it and then try and guess what it is.
The packaging they put it in is very generic and non-descript so definitely no clues given.
The wand is one of those plastic spikey brushes that has a curve to it. I like curved wands because I feel like the really do help to push up the outer edges of the lashes but I usually HATE plastic brushes. I really prefer the traditional bristle-y ones.
Buuuutttt… I can’t complain about the results I got. I feel like the formulation is kinda sticky and a lot dryer than I thought it would be from the look of the product sitting on the wand. This is literally one coat of the mascara and I feel like the results were so good. Like… I am kinda blown away because my until I tried this I thought nothing compares to my current favorite which is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.
I feell ike this separated my lashes fairly well as well as lengthened them. I don’t feel like they gave me any volume. I typically go for ones that give me a bunch of volume because my lashes are kinda wimpy on their own. I feel like the way this mascara dried would prevent a 2nd coat looking good. I feel like because the formula is so sticky that it would cause my lashes to stick together.
Anyway, other than the lack of volume in this mascara I am seriously impressed. Like… I can see myself using it on a regular basis. I read a spoiler on what this mascara actually is so I will not say what I think it is because that ruins the fun somewhat.
So tell me in the comments below… What do you think it is?
