This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, PEOPLE StyleWatch® and All You® but all my opinions are my own. #PMedia #NewYearMeTime http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
Taking “me time” is important and honestly not something enough of us utilize. I decided at the turn of the New Year I needed to start taking more time for myself and I have taken the efforts needed to make it happen at least 2-3 times a week. What I have been doing during this me time is usually taking the time to read magazines. YES. I look away from the computer for about half an hour to look at real paper with ink on it. ha
The ones that I enjoy reading the most is PEOPLE StyleWatch® and All You®. Those two magazines satisfy all of my cravings – from makeup and hair to workout tips and food. I usually sip on a smoothie while flipping through the pages. I picked these up at Walmart. So today I want to share with you a super delicious smoothie recipe and also a TIME SAVING TIP!
I love smoothies as much as the next person but I used to rarely make them because I hate dealing with a blender and I don’t own one of those single serving contraptions. Luckily I found out that most blender blades fit the opening of a standard mason jar. Not only does this save time from pouring the smoothie from the blender to the drinking glass, but you also don’t have the extra clean up. SCORE!
I don’t make the same smoothie over and over again, I change the ingredients nearly every time. It just depends on my interest that day. That and whatever I actually have in my house to throw in the jar. Today I was working with fresh strawberries, bananas, frozen pineapples and some orange juice.
I put about 3 oz of each of the fruits into my mason jar.
Added some orange juice without measuring. I mostly added it to add some wetness so it would blend smoothly.
I screwed on the blades of the blender onto the mason jar and popped it onto the blender and VOILA.
The end result is really delicious. Feel free to play with that basic recipe. You could even add less fruit and put in some ice to cut the calories down a bit. Truly whatever you want.
- 3 oz of Strawberries
- Half a Banana
- 3 oz of Frozen Pineapple
- 1-2 oz of Orange Juice
- Combine all into a blender/mason jar and blend.
