I am a pretty big Milani fan. Out of all the drugstore products I own Milani has found a home in my top 3 favorite brands. That being said, when a new release comes out I am definitely going to take interest. The Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshines were the most recent exciting new thing to be released and I have all four quads to review and swatch for you. Forenote: They remind me a lot of the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadows without the need of a special primer liquid.
Milani says:
This isn’t a shadow, it’s a shine. This extraordinary eye-enhancing, game-changing gloss can be swept on bare lids. Just tap the applicator onto the color and glide over the eye, starting close to the lashline. From there, simply blend and build with the applicator or your fingertip. In fact, it’s so easy to get glowing with this gloss, your hardest task will be picking a palette. Available in four shade quartettes named for Italy’s starriest, most beloved cities, the lineup includes Milan (soft pinks and taupes), Rome (a pack of rich lavenders and purples), Florence (think copper, bronze, gold) and Venice (icy white and cool blues). Sexy and glamorous, but an effortless addition to your makeup routine, Fierce Foil Eyeshine is runway inspired, “real way” designed.
For obvious reasons (mainly Taupe) 01 Milan is my favorite quad out of the bunch. The shades included in this set are the most wearable and most flattering on most people. I think the shades in these make for PERFECT highlights.
The purples in 02 Rome are very pretty. If you are a purple lover this is a MUST TRY.
The 03 Florence quad reminds me of summer and warmth. I think it will be gorgeous on those golden toned beauties and especially during the summer.
If you are a person that loves to rock blue, 04 Venice is actually quite stunning.
My overall thoughts on the palettes are this: They are nice for a highlight in the center of the lid or inner corner highlight, but not much else. If you are trying to use all 4 shades in one quad for an entire look it will be shimmery, shiny overkill. IF that is the look you are going for, then GO FOR IT. You can find them on Milani.com and at your local drugstore.
I do like the Milani Fierce Foil Eyeshines, but only as a finishing touch. I have been using the Tarte Tartelette Matte Eyeshadow palette and popping these on the center of my eye just for a fun pop of shine.
Tell me in the comments below: Which quad would you buy for yourself?
