If there is one thing I love in the world it is a good ole maxi skirt (or dress). I live in Florida right now, but I will be moving to the state of Washington soon. In Florida we get about 1-2 months of cold weather, and by cold I mean mostly Fall-type weather. The rest of the year it is fairly warm and you can wear skirts and even shorts. I have been thinking of ways to incorporate maxi dresses and skirts into cooler weather and I wanted to show you some styling ideas.
For the most part I am a VERY casual person. I rarely get dressed up. Even when I am supposed to be dressing up I am usually pushing the limits because I just like to be comfortable. I am sure most people can relate honestly.
Most people want to wear something light and airy with their maxi skirts, but I am really liking the layered look right now. Sure, you can wear your tanks, but throw a big comfy cardigan or demin shirt over it!
Swap out the sandals for a nice pair of flats, boots or booties. Heck, your legs aren’t being seen at all in a maxi so you could even get away with wearing tights under your skirt if you are looking to be a little warmer. In fact, I really like that idea.
Also, don’t be afraid to accessorize. Scarfs are my best friend when its cold out. I have an entire wardbrobe of scarves in my closet that I never get a chance to wear in Florida because it is just too darn hot here. Looking forward to being able to put them to good use.
