I admittedly have a huge sweet tooth. Staying healthy and on track is truly difficult when I want to eat all the chocolate. #TheStruggleIsREAL folks. I have been trying to keep on the right path throughout the year and I think I really have. But I also love finding things that taste so yummy that you are shocked they are good for you. I have found the perfect snacks to keep me full and away from my candy jar and I am excited to say that they are from the new V8 Protein line.
It is nice to have good for you options that also taste pretty darn amazing. The V8 Protein Shakes in Chocolate are blended with healthy ingredients that we know and can pronounce easily, without a doctorate degree! The protein is from peas, soy beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, brown rice, and quinoa flour! The V8 Protein Bars in Chocolate Peanut Butter were blended with carrots, soy, brown rice and sweet potatoes. I love the idea of eating or drinking something that pleases my sweet tooth while also getting a serving of vegetables. The shakes have 12g of protein and 3g of fiber while the bars have 10g of protein and 5g of fiber. Both have no high fructose corn syrup. WIN!
The V8 Protein Bars are the perfect mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack. For some reason I start getting really hungry at around 2-3 in the afternoon. I have been relying on these to tie me over until dinner and they are working. Instead of raiding my candy jar I have actually been LOOKING FORWARD to these bars.
I have been drinking the V8 Protein Shakes in the morning with breakfast. It makes me laugh when I think about it, but my dad always told me to start the morning off with some protein and it really has stuck with me. I know he meant bacon or sausage, but this works just fine for me.
I strongly recommend you picking them up for yourself. Promise you will love them!
I picked these up at my local Walmart. They were in the Diet and Nutritional supplements aisle over in Health and Beauty. I actually thought of looking for these on the juice aisle where all the other V8 products are, but these are definitely in a different spot. :)
