Today I want to take a minute to tell you a little bit about a typical day in the life of me. So many people look at bloggers and think, “Must be nice to take some pictures, write 300 words, and go off and enjoy the rest of your day.” I suppose for some that could very well be the case, BUT definitely not for me and hundreds of others. I am going to say that the majority of the bloggers I have met along the way are stay-at-home moms, and if they are reading this right now, they are probably laughing ALREADY. Go ahead and steal some time for yourself: grab a drink and some snacks, fruitwater perhaps, and let me take you through my day-to-day life.
For starters I wake up, feed my kids, get them ready for the day, drop my son off at school and then come back home. I begin my day with reading over comments and replying if there is a question. After that I usually grab my planners and notebooks and begin to work out an editorial calendar for the week (if not longer). This is where the fun begins. My daughter usually starts screaming because she wants something. I walk away to go find a solution to her problem and return to her taking over my workspace. She has usually ripped her hair bow out, gotten her crayons, and doodled all over my once nice and neat ideas and thoughts. It gets even better though.
All of you moms out there know exactly what I mean when I say toddler mood swings. My daughter just turned 1 1/2 and I think the terrible twos are soon to arrive. Her hormones send her through emotional roller coasters all day. One second she is a giggle box and the next she is completely distraught because I left the room without consulting her. When I go to console her she usually wants nothing to do with me. I then continue on my path to whatever it was I was doing before and return to her happy-go-lucky/content self.
All the drama that she puts me through usually eats up an entire day, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
There is one short portion of the day where I get to enjoy myself. NAP TIME! During her nap times I usually steal a moment for myself to do whatever it is I need to relax and recalculate. Stealing a moment for myself is actually the only thing that keeps me sane — for the most part. I have been watching this series on POPSUGAR called Seriously Distracted and enjoying some fruitwater!
I don’t know if you have heard of this show yet or not, but I think it is hilarious. It stars Amy Sedaris and has a ton of other colorful characters. The first episode even guest-stars Kimiko Glenn from OITNB! YES! It had me cracking up the whole time. Tune in on Tuesdays for a brand new episode!
A stolen moment is a sliver of time you find and take for yourself during your busy, on-the-go day. It’s the perfect occasion for a tasty, zero-calorie fruitwater. Follow fruitwater on Instagram at @fruitwaterbev and submit a photo showing the world how you make the most of your day by stealing a moment for yourself for your chance to win a $1,000 prize towards your next stolen moment! Make sure to include #stealamomentsweeps and #fruitwater in your Instagram submission.
So tell me in the comments below: What do you do to steal a moment for yourself?
