Hello! I have been having all sorts of problems with the battery of my old phone over the last couple of months, so when the opportunity to test out the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 I was more than excited. There are a few pretty amazing things that this phone is known for, one being the exceptional battery life. The other two things are the size of the screen and the fact that it is an unlocked phone, meaning you can use it on any GSM cellular carrier (AT&T and T-Moible), including pre-paid options!
The screen size on this bad boy is 6.1 inches and the screen is HD. For the phone to boast such a large screen it is surprising that the battery can last up to 60 hours on a single charge, but it does. And that is with constant use. I play on Facebook and Instagram on this massive phone and the battery seemingly doesn’t even take a hit.
I love the user friendly screen options on the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 too. The first couple of pictures I am showing you are in the standard setting that the phone was already set in. I changed my theme to be a neutral one. I have my top 3 contacts saved on the home screen and you can see my photo gallery right beside that.
My Google Apps are pretty important to me and they came already installed on the phone, so that was a definite plus. When I was putting in my information it asked me to log into my Google account and when I was done with the set up process all of my accounts were linked.
I decided to play around with the settings a little bit and switched into the “Simple” layout. I like this layout because there is no guesswork.
I mentioned before that the screen on the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 was HD and it is. I decided to take a shot of me taking a picture of something. The picture is very clear and easy to focus.
Now that all of the specs for the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 are sort of “out of the way” I want to say that this brave little phone powered me through my holidays. I made sure it was fully charged Wednesday night (the night before Thanksgiving) and it helped me navigate my Black Friday sales adventures. Funny that it is even called Black Friday anymore considering that everything opened up on Thanksgiving day. This awesome phone lasted until SUNDAY EVENING! YES! It went over its expected charge time with heavy use. Gotta love that.
