The Holiday season is my favorite. There is a feeling of love that lingers in the air and there is a sense of being home. I haven’t lived in my hometown for over 10 years now, but during the Holidays I have much more communication with my family and friends and it does my heart good.
What I also love about the holidays are the trends for makeup! Berry lips and a touch of glam really add to my sense of merriment. Today I am going to show you a look called Holiday Romance using some Mary Kay® products.
Funny story… One Christmas during my earlier years experimenting with makeup, my sister bought me some Mary Kay® skincare for one of my presents. She was (and still is) a very devout Mary Kay user. I can probably thank her for my affinity for skincare!
I will say that my love for actual makeup runs a little deeper though. There is something magical about a new mascara, luscious lips, and brightening blushes that makes me drool. Can I also say that I have an addiction to brushes? Brushes may have an intended use, but I pride myself in using my brushes in unintended ways, and coming up with some fabulous results. Makeup is the same for me. I love using a pretty champagne eyeshadow as my highlight. Knowing some simple swaps like that will also save you room in your travel bags, which we will all be doing this Holiday season, I am sure.
This little compact from Mary Kay is also very handy for Holiday travel. It has a magnetic backing that allows you to just pop the shades you are using in and out. So it could be a palette of 6 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, or just like what I have set up here. Pretty genius.
So now for a little break down on the products I used…
Swatches left to right: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Lavender Fog, Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Driftwood, Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Spun Silk, Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush, Mary Kay® Cream Blush in Sheer Bliss, Mary Kay® Lip Liner in Neutral, Mary Kay® Eyeliner in Deep Brown, Mary Kay® True Dimensions Lipstick in Rosette.
For the eyeshadow I did a light dusting of Lavander Fog in the crease. I really blended it and blew it out. I then applied Driftwood to the outer v and also concentrated into the center of the crease. I then highlighted my eyes with Spun Silk by applying it onto the lid, inner corner, and brow bone. I smudged the eyeliner on the upper lash line and then applied two coats of the mascara. I used the cream blush all over my cheek and highlighted with the mineral blush, but only a little. I lined my lips and then filled in with the lipstick. I think the lipstick is my favorite thing about this whole look. Berry lips are gorgeous and so on trend.
I hope you loved the look I created, and for more inspiration and videos go to http://www.marykay.com! So now for the fun part!
