I think we have established that Fall is my favorite time of year, but even more so than just beauty I love redecorating my home in the name of celebration. Here are a few ideas or themes that I sometimes follow, or at the very least get inspired by, when redecorating my home. I sometimes take it literally and sometimes I just pull the feeling into my home. Fall is a cozy time of year and I love a cozy home. I also like to keep the decor in my home classic and stylish. So here are my ideas for Classic and Stylish Fall Decor.
So first of all, let nature inspire you. Halloween is over but Thanksgiving is still approaching. I love decorating with pumpkin themes and I actually have pinecones in a big bowl near my entryway. They used to be scented but that has long worn off, but I still put them out because I think there is something truly beautiful about a pinecone. Gourds in general are fun for this time of year and incorporating a few christmas lights into the mix will give you an ambiance that you are itching for.
Warm shades are the best way to make your home inviting. I have a lot of warm browns and beiges in my house, but taking it a step further and throwing in a warm green or red will really set your living space off. I have a really pretty plaid flannel blanket draped on the back of my recliner and it screams sit in me.
Small details sometimes have the biggest impact on the overall mood of your home. Accent pillows with sweater material is so cute and unexpected. A clock with warm colors and leaves is easy and perfect way to add a little character. I actually have these natural fiber (i.e. twigs, twine and wood) baskets all over my house as catch-alls. They are pretty and they are usefull. Two birds with one stone.
