Over the weekend I experienced my first feeling of dry skin for the season. I live in Florida so the weather still hasn’t entirely cooled off yet, but we did experience a SLIGHT cold snap and my lips and cuticles suffered. I have a few products from Burt’s Bees that really helped nourish and hydrate my skin!
My hands are always dry, but specifically my cuticles seem to always be so dry. I have hand creams that I slather on, but my cuticles need a little extra care and I love the Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream from Burt’s Bees. It is in a fantastic tin that I leave on my nightstand. I also toss this in my bag when I know I will be out and about all day. It only takes a minute to put this on and it is SO HELPFUL in keeping your cuticles soft. I even put this on my husbands hands at night. He has 2-3 cuticles that are always a wreck and I am trying to help him repair them. Poor thing.
And for the lips… I have 3 different choices that will have you covered no matter what sort of lip look you like. When I am just sitting around the house I like a really moisturizing lip product and the Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil is amazing. It doesn’t do much as far as color goes, but it feels fantastic.
When I want a touch of glamour on my lips I like to use the Lip Shimmers. I have been using them for YEARRRRSSSSS. If I am remembering correctly, I think I first bought one of these my senior year of high school. They are nice and light on the lips while keeping them hydrated and smooth, but they have this gorgeous shimmer that isn’t over the top. Perfect for anyone, young or old.
For my everyday makeup routine, think running errands makeup — nothing dramatic, I like to wear a nice nude. The Tinted Lip Balm in Caramel Daisy is gorgeous. Like the replenishing balm, it feels great on but this one has some color. Caramel Daisy has a mauve/brown tint and is nice for adding just a little something.
My lips have a pretty strong mauve shade to them so I wanted to swatch them out on my arm so that you can see they aren’t all the same shade. They are in the same order as they are depicted above.
And here they are on my lips. Like I said above, my lips have a strong mauve shade to them and it always distorts the colors of whatever it is I am wearing. All of the shades are very different but ON MY LIP they all look pretty similar.
I turn to Burt’s Bees on a regular basis to moisturize my lips and tips. Before I started seeing the line at Walmart I thought they only did lip balms and cuticle creams, but I noticed they have gone into cleansers, baby products, and other various skincare items. I really had no idea they had such a diverse line of products. Definitely go into your local Walmart and see all of the great items from which they have to choose.
