I am a Hamilton Beach Ambassador. The slow cooker in this post was provided by the brand, but all opinions are my own.
I probably sound like I have been placed on repeat lately, but FALL IS HERE! Days are getting shorter and life is getting busier. I mean, seriously… There aren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with everything. Days like that call for easy dinners. Slow cookers make easy dinners, well, easy. I love throwing something in and doing next to nothing while this amazing meal makes itself. Well, it technically isn’t making itself. The Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker is making it. Today I am going to share with you something I tested out the other day, Apple Juice Brisket. What screams Fall MORE than apples?
Also, brisket is notoriously tough and I had the idea to use apple juice because I needed a liquid with a healthy dose of acidity to help break it down a bit. I also thought the flavor in the apple juice would pair well with the brisket.
For starters, I would like to mention that the Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget® 6 Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker With Spoon/Lid is really magnificent. It has all the bells and whistles that I never even knew I needed. That being said, I don’t think I can live without it now. Gah, SPOILED much?
This recipe is simple, but this smart machine makes it even more easy to create!
The machine does all the work. Using the probe to cook to the correct internal temperature takes ALL of the guess work out. I think that is possible the very best feature of this machine. Want to know what else is cool? Once it reaches the desired temperature, the machine automatically shifts itself to keep it warm. This thing is smarter than me. Wait, no it isn’t. But so smart! The only thing you actually have to think about is what you want to do with the super-tender-falling-to-pieces brisket. I mean, really.
I personally like it in sandwich form. Maybe smothered with some tangy bbq sauce. Though this recipe is so delicious and flavorful, it really doesn’t need any extra anything. In fact, I actually ate the leftovers from this recipe with a fork all on its own. Amazing. Cooking this brisket in apple juice was actually something I did on a whim. I had no idea how it would turn out, but I really impressed myself!
