Sometimes I am in awe of how far toys have come from when I was younger. I think my most exciting toy was a Barbie or the older style of My Little Pony. My son has all these crazy electronic, out of this world type stuff and I think it is really cool. Today I am going to talk to you about the Spin Master Air Hogs Vectron Wave!
“The Air Hogs Vectron Wave is an Unbelievable Flying Object (UFO—get it?)! You have to see it to believe it! Wave Control altitude-sensing technology allows it to rise up and hover over any hard surface. No remote control required! Take your Vectron Wave experience to the next level with more advanced moves like using your feet, knees and even shoulders. Or use the attachable catch sticks and toss it with a friend to play catch.”
Spin Master’s legendary Air Hogs brand recently celebrated their 15th anniversary. To commemorate the event, they decided to send one of their most iconic toys, the Vectron Wave, into the stratosphere at an altitude of 100,259 feet. They decided to call this mission #VectronsInSpace.
After months of strategic planning, hey launched the Air Hog in the California’s Mojave Desert and here is a video documenting everything! Another cool thing they are doing is a contest. Visit their website to find out more about how you can enter to win your family a 4 day trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama!
In the box we received there was a package of Astronaut Ice Cream. I think I was most excited about that part, even though I couldn’t eat it. I had never seen any before. When my husband saw it, he said “Oh cool! That stuff is awesome!” There you go!
I don’t know what I expected, but a solid bar of dried ice cream wasn’t it. I thought it would look like little pellets or something. This was still pretty cool. Now for the taste test.
Both kids had some and both approved. In fact, my youngest started chasing me down trying to get more.
While the kids were enjoying the astronaut ice cream we let the Air Hogs charge. We didn’t know exactly how long it would take and we are a little on the impatient side so after about 10 minutes we pulled them off and went at it. I should explain that these toys are recommended for indoor use only, but we wanted to have a lot of room to play with them so we took them outdoors. It was slightly windy so I don’t recommend using it outdoors under those conditions.
My son had it going all over the place. Once it would get low he would put his hand under where it was coming down and the air waves would send it shooting right off into the sky. Pretty sure that our neighbors say this happening and were probably thinking that it was some sort of UFO! ;)
Regardless, we spent about an hour outside playing with it and still, as I am writing this, my husband and son are sending it flying back and forth to each other in the living room. #BoysWillBeBoys!
If you are looking for a cool toy to give someone this gifting season, Spin Masters Air Hog Vectron Wave is a great option!
