Fall is right around the corner and beauty collections have been releasing left and right. I am so excited because Fall is my absolute favorite time of year for makeup. The shades are deeper, complexions are more flawless, everything is more exciting. You can feel the electricity in the air, right? Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has a ton of gorgeous items they released in the Fall 2014 collection, and today I have two Cosmetic Colour Pencils and one Matte Lip Tar.
“Cosmetic Colour Pencils are a versatile range of cosmetic pencils that perfectly complement Lip Tar. From everyday neutrals to bold hues, each pencil can stand alone as highly pigmented liners for the eyes and beyond.” These pencils can be used on the eyes, lips and body. So versatile. The two shades of Cosmetic Colour Pencils I have for you are Lydia and Sebastian.
Lydia is a darkroom plum. When I first saw this I immediately knew what inspired the name. Beetlejuice’s Lydia and this color are best friends! This shade is SO ON TREND for this coming fall and I am completely obsessed with it.
Sebastian is a plum-toned taupe. I originally thought this was going to be good to deepen the outer corners of my lips, and it still may be, but once I did the swatches I realized that this is a great brow pencil. Super pigmented and not a lot needed.
I am sure you are all very familiar with Lip Tars but if not, they are a high-opacity lipstick concentrate with unprecedented longevity. The shade I have to show you is Lament. It is a matte neutral rose beige and it is love. I have a few other Lip Tars and they are nice, but this one is definitely going to get a lot of love from me. I love nudes.
The swatches are L to R: Lydia, Sebastian, Lament.
As you can see, when I said Sebastian is the perfect brow shade for me, I wasn’t lying. I think the plummy tones make it cool enough to be a good match for my hair color.
I lined my lips with Lydia and filled them most of the way in leaving the center open and free of color. I dabbed the Lip Tar in Lament into the center and blended it in. I am in love with the result I got. It is like an ombre lip that was made for Fall.
Overall, I think you should definitely get your booty into your nearest retailer that carries Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and pick up everything I mentioned here. The pencils retail for $16 each and the Lip Tar retails for $18!
