As most people are aware, Laura Mercier makes some of the best foundations and tinted moisturizers on the planet. Recently they launched a brand new (and permanent) foundation to their line up. Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. The last week or two, I have been using the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. It is one of those foundations that are thinner in consistency and needs to be shaken. It is reminiscent of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in that way, but I personally like this one more.
“This long-wear, oil-free makeup magically blurs imperfections for a smooth, seamless complexion. Lightweight and color true, it gives you a flawless natural matte finish. Shake to activate this ultra-modern, light-weight foundation for fresh color every time. It has a bi-phase formula to create an even, seamless, complexion.” – Laura Mercier
This foundation is geared towards a lightweight, flawless, matte finish. What that means for me is that it will be perfect for my oily skin. I don’t like ANYTHING that feels too heavy because it will instantly get my oiliness activated and on a mission to ruin it. I also love the words matte in anything. I am realistic, so I know that when something claims to be matte, it typically doesn’t last long, but the matter the better because my oil problem will seep into the finish and make it more skin-like, which is what I am going for. And actually. the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide stays pretty matte for me and definitely really lasts a long time. I don’t wear it for 12 hours but I am certain that if I still worked outside of my house that it would hold up for 10 hours.
You can see the difference in my before and after pictures. The “Before” picture was nothing on my face except that morning’s skincare. The “After” was one layer of Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. No concealer or anything else. I applied it with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush and then dabbed it onto my problem areas as concealer. Perfection in my opinion. You can find Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide at Sephora and it retails for $48.
