The most important thing to me during my period is comfort. Sometimes comfort is a nice home-cooked meal, sometimes it means camping out in front of the tv in your old ragged sweats, but for me (at the risk of sounding vain) comfort is really all about flawless-faced beauty routine. Sometimes when we are experiencing our time of the month our skin reacts badly and as a result we look how we feel—worn out. I am going to walk you through 5 products that help me achieve my Comfort Factor Makeup look.
My face is fairly clear 90% of the time, but during that time of the month blemishes happen. Covering up those imperfections is sometimes easier said than done, which is why I use the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. It is a concentrated complexion perfecter that really trumps ALL else.
I also experience a little sleep deprivation during my periods… probably from all the ice cream I eat, which is another comfort factor item. I use the Shiseido Eye Zone Corrector. It has a light formula that is perfect for around the eyes because that area is the least forgiving when concealing. Using something heavy can be very noticeable when it sets into our fine lines in that area. Because of the sleep deprivation I experience I also like to add a pop of color to my cheeks because that will instantly wake the face up! One that I love for a quick pick me up is Laura Mercier Lotus Pink.
When my lips start to dry out I turn to a good lip balm. I honestly am a hoarder of all lip balms but one that I have been reaching for faithfully for years is the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve. It handles a plethora of other beauty problems but works wonders on the lips!
The final product I use for my Comfort Factor Makeup is a trustworthy mascara. Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara has been like a best friend to me through good and bad. What is more comforting than a best friend?
