Not that long ago I wrote all about The Best Nude Lipsticks, but today I am sharing all of the products that round up The Best Red Lips! Some of them are lipsticks, some are lip glosses, and there are several things in between as well. I know for sure that 1 or 2 may not be available any longer… I hate to show you those items, but I felt it necessary to share them because I want the brands to bring them back! And sometimes brands do revisit shades, so it is very possible. So I will get right into it without droning on any longer.
I am going to list these out in the order of the picture below from top to bottom. The swatch picture below it is also in order left to right.
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red
Dior Rouge Dior Creme de Gloss in Rouge Nectar #845
Vincent Longo Velvet Riche Rejuvenating Lipstick in Ignition
Poppy King for No7 in Number One History
Vincent Longo Lip/Cheek Gel Stain in Liquid Kiss
Ardency Inn Modster Long Play Lip Vinyl in Original Mix
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Suede
Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon
Lise Watier Haute Couleur in Rouge Catwalk
When I was putting on these reds for pictures I was asking my husband, “Do you like this one?” “What about this one?” “Is this one better than that one?” He finally stopped me and told me they all looked the same. I looked at him with the blank stare of death and swatched them out all on my arm to prove a point… They are nothing alike. Not one of them looks like the other. The textures, the finishes, the formulas, THE SHADES! Yet these 9 lovely reds all look good on me. Which is hard to find. Sometimes certain shades of a color look terrible while others look fabulous.
I included shades that are discontinued because these work for me and they have for a couple years. Should I still have lipsticks that are a couple years old? Probably not, but that is on me. The consistency and scent haven’t turned so I am keeping them in my arsenal until they either (a) bring them back or (b) I find something similar.
That is my list of The Best Red Lips, what are your favorites? Tell me in the comments below!
