YAY for fun fall releases. Palettes are my favorite. Are they yours? Today I have the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette and I am so excited. It is essentially an entire face (other than foundation and lipstick) in one palette. You have highlighter, blush, bronzer and SIX eyeshadows. This palette can take you from day to night and the shades included are neutrals with a touch of purple. It is a huge disc and has an exotic snake on the front. Packaging is everything to me and Tarte Rainforest After Dark NAILED IT. The limited edition Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette is a gorgeous palette to transition you from Summer To Fall.
“Inspired by the rain forest’s deep orchid hues at dusk, Tarte’s limited-edition eye and cheek palette has everything you need to create sultry and sophisticated day to night looks. Infused with colored clay, which naturally color-corrects as it supports oil control, this makeup provides longer wear and truer color payoff. This modern ingredient from the mountainous regions of Brazil brightens, evens, and soothes skin, while the velvety formula glides on and delivers rich color—without settling into fine lines and wrinkles.”
As a girl with oily skin and oily lids I am REALLY excited to try the new colored clay products. This will be my first go round with them and I am excited.
I am going to take you through the face products first. The highlighter included is Champagne, the bronzer is Park Avenue Princess (one of my long running favorite bronzers), and the blush is called Unleashed which is a nude rose.
There are 6 eyeshadows in the palette and the first three I am swatting are Bare to Explore (pink beige), Make a Mauve (plum mauve), Plum Away with Me (dark plum).
The next three are Up to No Gold (gold), Tan-gled Up in You (tan), Don’t Turn A-Brown (dark brown).
This palette is just so pretty that I wanted to make sure I captured it correctly so I took several photos. I included one in direct sunlight and one in indirect sunlight.
The Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette combines shimmer and matte products in both the face and the eye products. They also included a nice range of shades, from dark to light. Neutral palettes are a dime-a-dozen here lately (which doesn’t bother me one bit because that is what I personally enjoy) and it is nice to see that this one included some pretty neutral purple tones. The fact that the blush and bronzer are matte are also a blush. I like wearing more matte products in the Fall so this is perfectly on trend, but that highlight… That highlight gives such a gorgeous glisten that can be applied heavily but can also be applied very subtly. Don’t forget that the face shades could totally be used as additional eyeshadows, too!
