I am a huge NARS Cosmetics fan. In case you want to see a list of all my NARS posts just click the link! When I found out about the fantastic BRAND NEW Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows I leapt for joy. NARS releases new items all the time but almost never an entirely new formula. The shade I have for you today is Callisto
“Double-down with the new dual-application formula – apply dry for a sheer, airbrush-like finish with a luminous sheen or apply with a dampened brush for high-impact and intense, opaque color. Twelve ready-to-wear and rebelliously romantic shades transform your look with a riveting range from delicate peach pink to fierce black orchid. This exciting new product is available beginning July 1 at NARS boutiques and on www.narscosmetics.com.”
Callisto is described as an icy, silver pink. When I am looking at it in the pan I keep trying to call it taupe because of its complexity. Actually, I think that anytime a color has a silvery sheen running through it I call it taupe… Yeah…
So I took pictures of it immediately because I was dying to get into this pan and smear it all up! I just ran my finger over this shade a couple of swipes and I am completely amazed at the HIGH SHINE I got in return. This is supposed to be Dual-Intensity but with intensity like this dry, I am not sure I will need to apply it wet.
So even though I can tell that this is definitely a silvery pink with mild leanings of tan I still wanted to swatch it next to my favorite taupes of all time. Just to see how it stacked up.
L to R: Shu Uemura ME856, Shu Uemura ME850, NARS Callisto, CARGO Yukon, Lancome Erika F.
Compared side by side I see that this one screams pink, but can you see the little glimmer of brown/tan that is shining through? It is love. I am in love with NARS Callisto. Now I just need to get my hands on more of these shades. I don’t know about you, but I am now off to go and find more shades on their website for me to hoard collect! And like always, I will have a makeup look coming very soon for you to see! Again, this are on narscosmetics.com, Sephora, and other various retailers.
Which shade are you most excited about?
