I recently wrote about my 4 favorite fragrances for men and I had some questions about this one, L’Occitane’s Cade, so I decided to go ahead and do a separate post all about it.
“The Cade Eau de Toilette is a spicy, woody fragrance that evokes the dry wood, red soil and hot stones found in the sunny Garrigue landscape of southern France. Top notes of bergamot lead to a generous heart of cedar wood and pink pepper. A base ofcade wood and citrus linger on the skin throughout the day. Enriched with essential oils of cade wood and pink pepper, this eau de toilette complements all of the products in the Cade collection, emblematic of L’Occitane.” – L’Occitane
Everything from the colors and shape of the bottle down to the scent remind me of my dad. He was a man that worked with his hands. A man that was rough around the edges, but somehow managed to smell glorious. There is something about that woodsy, spicy group of fragrances that has been so comforting to me since then. It makes me feel 6 years old again. It makes me want to crawl into my daddy’s lap and watch some tv.
While we are on the touch of my dad, he also used some seriously spicy soaps. Something about his generation and spice… I can remember the scent of the bathroom after he was done showering. It was like man aromatherapy. The scent that would come wafting into the living room was so good. I tend to lean towards these fragrances when I am purchasing for my husband. I guess what they say is true, a girl does look for someone like her dad. Anyway, getting back on track. L’Occitane as a great line of Pebble Soaps. There are three fragrances I have for you today. The brown one is the same as the cologne, Cade. Verdon is the grey one and it has an uplifting, energizing fragrance. The purple-y, blue pebble soap is L’Occitan. It is scented with lavender, mixed with the peppery and nutmeg scent of burnt wood, that I recognized the land of Provence.
If you are looking for a Father’s Day gift this year, L’Occitane Cade is your best bet. What your kind of fragrance for men?
