I have so many goals this summer and I plan to celebrate them all. I mentioned in my last post that I am now a stay at home mom and this will be my first summer with my kids. I am celebrating that. I am celebrating being able to experience every moment. I am celebrating every ouchie. I am celebrating every triumph. I am celebrating every failure. Being a mom, we deal with all of these things on a daily basis. To celebrate them means that you are living in that moment and actually supporting every part of it. You may wonder why I am celebrating ouchies and failures — it is because major lessons are learned in the accidents.
My kids are my world. I would do anything for them. Watching them grow has been so exciting for me. Watching these little mini versions of myself and my husband coming into their own is so fun. They have unique personalities BUT they are both extremely strong-willed.
One goal I have this summer is to improve upon my 1 year old’s vocabulary. She says a few things but is stubborn and wont repeat ANYTHING when I ask her to—even when I know she understands what I am asking her to say. I don’t remember it being such a struggle with my son. That is PROBABLY because he is a motor mouth and has been from the early days.
Last year around this time my son was playing with the neighbor’s kids and wound up with a gash on his forehead that required 17 stitches to heal. There is a long story there and it would require a post all its own. He has a history of winding up in the ER for random reasons. When he was way younger he ripped a Nerf football to pieces and lodged a piece up his nose. Of course, we didn’t know about for days until it had started causing problems. He has stuffed tiny balls down his ear. The goal for my son is to keep his accidents minor. The kind that Tylenol, Neosporin, and band aids can fix.
I recently stopped by Walgreens to stock up on my family’s healthy essentials. They have an end cap right now that is focused on all Johnson & Johnson products so you can Celebrate Every Goal this Summer. They are playing on words with that due to all of the soccer games going on right now. #GoTeamUSA! I am a reward card holder and right now when you spend $15 or more on the select products on the display you get 3,000 points! Win, win.
I put together my #CelebrateEveryGoal Summer Kit and I want to share with you the things I included…
I bought a huge Value Pack of Band-Aids. Everything is in this box. There are Water Block bandages, Flexible Fabric bandages, Sport Strips, cute Mickey bandages, and the large bandage. I never seem to stock up on those knee-sized bandages and then end up kicking myself when I need them. I also picked up Band-Aid’s best friend Neosporin. Those two things go hand in hand for me. If I am putting a Band-Aid on something, Neosporin will DEFINITELY be applied first. Last but not least is Extra Strength Tylenol and that is mainly for my own ouchies. All of the running around I do with the kids leads me drained and sort of tense which I am sure is a factor in my MANY tension headaches. I have tried many different kinds of pain relievers over the years and Tylenol is the one that works for me consistently.
The “2014 FIFA WORLD CUP™ Wellness Tour” will be stopping in select Walgreens stores in Los Angeles. You and your family can celebrate every goal with live music, giveaways and product samples, autograph signing with former Mexican National champion player Germán Villa, appearances by FULECO® mascot, PANINI® album and sticker trading and Sports injury prevention activities free health checks valued at $100 provided by the Walgreens .
