Blush is one of my most favorite things to collect. I love blush because the shade of the flush on your cheeks changes the entire mood of your face. A more deep, nude blush can mean serious business while a youthful, fresh shade can give off the air of innocence. I have put together my list of blushes that are my go-tos in the summer months. Some of these were provided for editorial consideration, most were purchased by me. Without further rambling, here are The Best Summer Blush.
It was really tough to narrow this group down. I have about 4 drawers packed full of blush and I use them all. There isn’t a blush that I have met that I don’t like, so I tend to hoard them.
The obvious picks are definitely the brighter shades. There is something about these beautiful brights that ring true during the summer. It is very believable to have a bright flush to your cheeks in a month that a lot of us spend outdoors. My Favorites are Smashbox Blush Rush in Radiance, Milani Baked Blush in Bella Rosa, Make Up For Ever HD Cream Blush in 410, and Rouge Bunny Rouge in Orpheline.
There are some shades that I actually love all year round, but during the summer I feel like they give you that fresh, youthful tint to the cheeks. These blushes are MARC JACOBS Promiscuous, LORAC Exposed, and Shiseido Face Color Enhancing Trio in OR1.
The pinks I chose for the summer are ones that are both pigmented and more neutral. I think that these two pinks will suit the majority of the people that wear them. They are Merle Norman A Little Famous and MAC Fleur Power.
Last but not least, the nudes. I tend to gravitate towards my nude shades all year round but these two are stand outs. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed is a super long-term favorite and so is NARS Luster for that matter.
The swatches are L to R: MAC Fleur Power, Merle Norman A Little Famous, Shiseido Face Color Enhancing Trio in OR1, LORAC Exposed, MARC JACOBS Promiscuous, Rouge Bunny Rouge Orpheline, Milani Bella Rosa, Smashbox Radiance, Make Up For Ever 410, NARS Luster, and Tarte Exposed.
These are the best summer blush options, in my humble opinion. I feel like I chose options that are pretty diverse in shade, texture and finish. Each one of these brings a little something to the table and if you already own any of these shades, pat yourself on the back for being prepared for your summer beauty routine.
