Summer is around the corner and I for one want to be ready! The Summer Prep Collection by TotalBeauty.com is a great beauty box of travel-friendly essentials to keep you glowing and gorgeous all summer long. TotalBeauty revealed a couple of the products on their website when the first launched the box but the other products were a mystery! So yay! First peek at the goods in the box!!! WHOOP! The Summer Prep Collection retails for $25 but the value is over $95. Great deal, right?
Pssttt… I am giving you a discount code at the end of the post…
Purlisse Pur-Protect SPF 30 Essential Daily Moisturizer – Full Size, retails for $55
Right away, the first product I pulled out of the box is worth more than double the price tag. It is a great daily moisturizer that provides awesome sun protection. There is a light, fresh sunscreen scent to it which I kinda like. It isn’t strong and it reminds me of summertime. I personally try to wear sunscreen daily YEAR ROUND. I prefer that my sun protection not be in my actual foundation but in an actual product. Reason being is that I take a TON of photos of myself for my blog and I don’t want that white flash-back that you can sometimes get with SPF foundations. I am really happy to see this included.
Gleam by Melanie Mills Body Radiance (Light Gold or Bronze Gold) – Deluxe Sample, $15 value
It is a transfer-resistent, non-staining, no streaking, all-in-one makeup, moisturizer, and glow for the body and face. I received the shade Bronze Gold and I seriously love it. I am kinda light right now but I applied it to my legs today they were seriously gleaming with the reminiscence of a European vacation. I can totally see myself wearing this all summer long. Very happy discovery!
Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – 3 sample packets, $5 value
As soon as I picked up one of the sample packets I noticed that it was an Allure Best of Beauty award winner, so you know it is quality stuff. It is a cruelty-free, vegan, rich, non-greasy, “chem-free” face sunscreen that offers Broad Spectrum Protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays. Infused with youth promoting antioxidants and astaxanthin, this 3-in-1 product functions as a face moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup primer! Red algae and Certified Organic: aloe vera, jojoba, sunflower, pomegranate, cucumber, and green tea provide the face with additional sun defense and hydration. Large doses of uncoated, non-nano zinc-oxide protect the skin while providing anti-inflammatory properties that help with rosacea, acne, and melanoma. The full size retails for $45. I am hoping to love this because it sounds SPECTACULAR!!!
nelson j Healing Masks (Coconut, Pomegranate & Rosemary Mint) – 3 sample packets, $10.50 value
When I pulled these out of the box I immediately saw the words Argan Oil and knew I would love it. My hair is really shiny and healthy-looking but I have recently been told by my hair stylist that it is lacking moisture. It has been a while since I have tried a hair mask so I am stoked to try it. And quite honestly, I prefer to have sample packets of hair masks because I like to try so many different ones all the time. I tend to move on to another before I have fully used up a whole tub and I feel wasteful when that happens. The scents are something I am really looking forward to with these!
CoTZ Face Natural Skintone SPF 40 – deluxe sample, $5 value
This sunscreen sports a natural skin tone (a.k.a. it is tinted). It feels silky soft, blends translucent, has a sheer matte finish and will not irritate or sting. It is 100% free of preservatives, chemical sunscreens and oils. The soft matte finish of this leads me to want to use it as a primer, as the tint really doesn’t stick around. I didn’t notice that it evened out my skin, but the next time I have a pool party I will be wearing this so I don’t feel like my skin is completely naked!
Kitsch Basic Hair Ties – Full set, $9 value
I have an unhealthy addiction to hair ties. I have a bazillion of them and I keep collecting more. I lose them a lot so my hoarding is sort of excused. I personally love the elastic-y hair ties because they are more gentle on my hair so that creates less breakage and it doesn’t leave a crease in my hair. If I want to pull my hair out of the hair tie mid-day I know that it will look good. I also like that they are cute on my wrist and a can coordinate with my outfits! #crazygirlproblems!
Final Thoughts on The Summer Prep Collection
I think that the entire box is a really great value. My favorite things were the Gleam Body Radiance and the Kitsch hair ties. Okay, the hair masks too. I LIKE IT ALL! There I said it. I know I will get use out of everything. The Summer Prep Collection from TotalBeauty.com is great. Again, it retails for $25 and is worth more than $95. I have a coupon code for my readers, too! SUMMER15 will get you 15% off of your next Total Beauty Collection purchase! Score!
