Shu Uemura’s Tint In Gelato Lip and Cheek Colors have been an anticipated release for a while now. I have been playing with this baby for a couple of weeks and I am loving it. So you are probably thinking that it is a lipgloss or liquid lipstick just from it coming in a tube, but no… It is one of those amazing hybrid products that are transforming makeup artistry. Before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you a little more. For starters the shade I am showing you today is PK-01 Berry Berry.
This lip and cheek color is actually a very versatile product. Just about every detail on the product is unique. The applicator is the same as the Gloss Unlimiteds—somewhat of a spoon. It pulls a good bit of the product out of the tube, allows for smooth application and prevents you from needing to double-dip. Also the applicator is slightly bent so it hugs the lips as it is applied and comes to a point allowing you to get into those hard to reach corners.
The creamy/mousse-y, light, gelato-like formula can be applied thick or thin; either way will give you a different result. If you apply it straight from the applicator onto the lips you will get an intense dewy finish. If you blend it onto your cheeks you will get a semi-matte, natural-sheen finish. Either way is completely beautiful. One swipe of the wand delivers opacity, I was quite surprised.
Overal the Shu Uemura Tint In Gelato Lip and Cheek Colors are fantastic. There are 12 shades in the line with a broad range. I think that anyone will be able to find a color that suits them. You can pick and choose your finish depending on how you apply it. A thinner layer applied onto the lips by patting your finger will allow for a more matte finish. This application method is great for those of you that want a matte look but have dry lips because of the moisture it contains. They also last a good bit of time, they act a bit like a stain and lasted 3-5 hours on me, depending on what I was doing.
