My hair is lifeless, flat and BORING on its own. I have to pump it full of life with products and heat tools. Without those two things I would have long straight hair that did nothing. My face is a face that was built for big hair… I can’t with a flat, dull mane. I have been using some new products from Drybar that have changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic but seriously, my hair is so fun now! I have been using the Texas Tea Volumizing Hair Spray and the Mai Tai Sea Salt Spray.
Drybar Texas Tea Volumizing Hair Spray is “formulated with almond extract and aloe to keep hair strong and healthy, this non-drying starting spray provides long-lasting volume. Simply spray on before you begin your blowout for a beautiful, voluminous look that’s never stiff or crunchy.” It really plumps up my hair and preps it for the rest of my curling “process”. I spray it on my towel dried/damp hair and then shoosh it up with my fingers just to make sure the product has spread nicely. The spritzer disperses a nice amount of product so there is never much work to be done. This stuff smells great and is very unique. I can definitely smell the almond extract but it also smells exactly the way I expect a high end salon to smell. Sort of like a nutty perfume for the hair. Mmm…
The Mai Tai Spritzer is essentially a sea salt spray. “This light spray adds soft, beachy waves for a breezy look without the drying, damaging effects of seawater. This formula contains real sea salt, aloe, and algae to create rough texture and volume, while leaving hair with a matte finish.” In a word — LOVE. It provides a ton of texture and volume to give me the sexy, beach look I want without having to go to the beach. Let me fill you in on a little secret. I live like 15 minutes from the beach but I haven’t gone to it in about 2 years. I don’t like getting dirty, gritty and sticky; NOT to mention fighting the crowds. I would rather lounge by a pool! ANYWAY, getting back on track… This spray can be used two different ways: apply it to damp hair for texture and volume OR spray into dry hair for added grit and texture. I use it in dry hair. Once I get my hair curled I spray about 5 pumps into the crown and shaft of my hair and shoosh again.
It sounds simple enough but look at what my stick straight hair looks like after I do this! I am not one to toot my own horn but my hair looks FABULOUS after I use these products! The volume and texture I get is unreal.
I am completely in LOVE with the combo of these products from Drybar. Another thing I want to mention is that their concept and packaging is brilliant. They are cruelty-free products and are made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. They get the job done without all of the added nonsense. The packaging looks like little bottles of alcohol (in my mind, anyway) and the brand is named Drybar. I think that is too cute for words. On the back of the bottles the “directions” are written “How To Serve”. Dry bar has made the short list in best hair care brands in my book!
