FINALLY FRIDAY! Today’s Friday 5 is all about eyeshadow! These are the best drugstore neutral eyeshadows, in my humble opinion. There are 3 palettes, one single, and a cream eyeshadow. I will warm you that there is a pretty heavy taupe theme that is strung through all of my choices… I am sorry. I may be predictable but I like to just think that I know what I like! ha
{one} My favorite eyeshadow single from the drugstore is in the L’Oreal Infallible line and it is in the shade Bronzed Taupe. The sheen on this baby makes it SUPER hard to photograph! It is basically pressed pigments and its super soft and so creamy that you would think it possibly is a cream. It has amazing pigmentation. I actually own a dozen or more from this line. Everytime I see new shades I RUN to the display! If you would like to see other reviews I have done on certain shadows from this line CLICK HERE!
{two} I think the ONLY cream eyeshadows from the drugstore that I would use interchangeable as an eyeshadow base are the Maybelline Color Tattoos! The one I have in the picture is in the shade Barely Branded. It reminds me a great deal of MAC Bare Study paint pot. It is a light champagne shade and creates a perfect shimmery, crease-proof base. I also love to wear it on its own for a simple, yet beautiful eye look. CLICK HERE for posts where I have reviewed them or used them in a look.
{three} The most versatile drugstore eyeshadow trio I have in my collection is from Wet n Wild and it is called Walking on Eggshells. The three shades in this palette are great dupes for three very popular MAC eyeshadows: Naked Lunch, Cork, and Shroom. The best part is that this particular trio is more pigmented than those three shadows. CLICK HERE to see other posts I have used this trio in!
{four} A brand new quad that I purchased a week or so ago is from Hard Candy and it is called Brownie Points Brown Palette. These are baked eyeshadows and actually have a great deal of pigmentation whether you use them wet or dry. The swatches I am showing you right now are actually dry.
{five} Another quad that I own that is perfect for beginners is from Rimmel London and it is called English breakfast. I actually used this quad in mod makeup tutorial a few months ago. I say that it is great for beginners because it isn’t so pigmented that it is hard to work with but it has nice soft shades that anyone can find use for!
