This week’s Makeup Wars we are all sharing our Beauty Diary. That means we are going to share with you what beauty products we use everyday. I interpreted that to mean what I use most often because my daily routine switches up depending on what I am testing out, sampling, etc. I decided to go with my tried and true.
Skincare
First off, the Neutrogena Face Wipes are the best. I have tried every color pouch of these wipes and they are all pretty fantastic. I use them to get off makeup in the evening, clean up swatches on my arm, refreshing my skin in the morning or after a workout… you name it. I love them.
The Konjac Sponge is really great for cleansing the skin. I have reviewed one a couple years ago and I have another review coming up very soon on this Charcoal one. They are such interesting little sponges.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is my absolute favorite evening cleanser even though it can be used AM and PM. I love that it feels super moisturizing on your skin while also exfoliating to reveal radiance. I always notice my face feels PERFECTLY smooth after using this. I can’t say that about everything I have used.
I like to follow up cleansing with a toner and my favorite one right now is the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic. I have a full review coming up on it soon, but I am in love with it.
I am always testing out some new moisturizer but the one that I will always come back to is the TATCHA Deep Brightening Serum. It sinks in and makes my skin glorious. It is on the pricey side but I will keep buying it because it delivers results.
MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Creme is my go-to facial sunscreen. I especially love this one on its own because it has a little bit of a tint so my redness is disguised.
Makeup
I have been loving the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade since it first made it’s way home with me. It is tiny jar of eyebrow perfection. I love that it takes so little to create a perfectly shaped brow and they stay in place all day!
IT Cosmetics CC Cream is one of my all time favorite complexion perfecters. I have mentioned it a bazillion times here and I am sorry for my repetitiveness, but that obviously tells you to get your hiney out there and try it, right?
One lip product that I encourage everyone to try is the Dior Lip Glow. I know it seems like a regular lip balm but it isn’t. The moisturization you get from the balm is great AND the color changes to a beautiful pink on your lips. And hello??? The packaging is beautiful.
My favorite blush of all time is the Laura Mercier Second Skin Blush in Lotus Pink. It is the perfect shade YEAR ROUND and I can’t get enough of it.
I have also been raving about Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara quite often lately and I wont stop now. It is less than $5 and makes the most voluminous, long lashes I have ever seem from a drugstore mascara.
Edward Bess Daydream Bronzer is like a daydream. It is so light and subtle but my skin tone is pretty fair lately and I am just blown away by how gorgeous it looks on my skin. The packaging I have is when it was rounded but it has now changed to a square shaped compact
Palettes
I needed to put my palettes in a separate category here. I don’t use the same one everyday but I use the same general colors everyday. I love a pretty natural/neutral palette. I tried to narrow it down to just one but I couldn’t choose between Urban Decay Naked3, IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty, Too Faced Chocolate Bar or Too Faced Natural Eyes. I did realize that they are all good for slightly varying looks.
Brushes
The Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush is a small but powerful brush in my collection. I love it because it is an angled flat top brush and my hand covers the entire handle so I have maximum control! It also blends in foundation like a dream.
My Laura Mercier Pony Tail brush is one that I use for crease color application and blending. It gives such a diffused layer of color that I want like 3.
Japonesque Smudger Brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow on the inner corner or even along the bottom lash line.
Real Techniques Powder Brush is great for dusting a translucent powder all over the face and even applying a blush or bronzer to the apples of your cheek. A very affordable, very versatile brush.
Laura Mercier Cheek Colour Brush is the best for applying precise color on your cheeks. It is sort of flat so I would have never picked it up on my own but I got it in a set of other brushes. It is now one I reach for quite often.
Urban Decay Good Karma Shadow Brush is perfect for packing shadow onto the lid. It feels good and it picks up just enough shadow.
MAC 168 is another versatile brush. I love to apply blush and bronzer with it. I have 3 of these and they all get used constantly!
Miscellaneous
This is a category of things that I couldnt figure out where they fit into other categories or there was one one of…
Q-Tips are a beauty do all. I use them to touch up my makeup, remove imperfections, apply balms from a jar, etc. If you aren’t currently using q-tips in your routine then what are you waiting for?
Hair Ties are an essential part of my day. Whether I am lounging around, working out or playing with my daughter I am throwing my hair up. My favorite ones are these goody ties. They are not rough on my hair and don’t leave a crease when I take them out.
Bobbi Pins are little miracle workers as far as i am concerned. When I have my hair pulled up into a pony tail or bun I have these annoying baby-fine hairs that stick out and I secure them down with bobbi pins. I also use bobbi pins in my occasional nail art for making dots.
My favorite perfume for years now is Prada Candy. I never wear it on it’s own but it is magnificent when it is layered with other fragrances. It is a sweet and sensual scent that makes me smile.
LUSH Cosmetics Big Shampoo is one I repurchase time and time again. I don’t use it as my daily shampoo but it lives in my shower. I use other more moisturizing shampoos on a daily basis and use this one when I want to clarify/purify my hair or on days I want a little extra volume.
Another LUSH Cosmetics product I enjoy is Ocean Salt. It is a face and body exfoliator that I have reviewed before. I love the versatility of this product because it can be used for both face and body. I feel like it is quite unique and it smells great.
That is it for My Beauty Diary. I know, a lot of products right? Check out what the other Makeup Wars ladies included in their beauty diaries!
