Eye makeup is one of the hardest things to remove! For me anyway… I have oily lids so I tend to use waterproof and/or water-resistant products. The skin is delicate in that area, so you don’t want to rub that area to hard. Because the products that are placed on and around the eye are usually waterproof it makes it that much more difficult, right? Tarte Cosmetics just came out with the Fresh Eyes Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes in their Summer 2014 line. Wipes for your eye makeup!
“These premoistened towelettes gently wipe away waterproof eye makeup, delivering intense moisture and invigorating ingredients that nourish and hydrate skin. Formulated to remove even stubborn waterproof makeup formulas, the multitasking towelettes soothe the delicate eye area and help fight signs of premature aging.” – Tarte Cosmetics
The first thing I noticed is that these wipes smell amazing! Sweet and citrusy; maybe it is the Maracuja oil it is infused with? They are specifically good for the eyes because of the oil, vitamin c and other moisturizing elements. The second thing I noticed about these wipes is that they are smaller than your typical makeup wipe. They are only meant for your eyes so this isn’t a bad thing.
I find that they break down waterproof makeup very easily. It only took a couple swipes to get an entire eye’s worth of shadow off! That is pretty impressive. I found that it did a good job on my mascara too, though I prefer to use an actual cleansing oil to remove it because my lashes fall out easily.
Overall the Tarte Fresh Eyes Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes ($12 for 30 wipes) is a really good option. I would say especially for a girl on-the-go or someone that is really lazy at taking their makeup off (like me on the weekends! :P
