This week the Makeup Wars Ladies are dishing about our Favorite Foundations. I have more than a dozen different foundations at the moment (maybe even more than 20) but these 3 are the ones that I reach for most often. Especially when I have problematic skin that calls for medium-full coverage. Out of the 3 I picked 2 are actually CC creams. The way I see it: if it fixes my face it falls into the category of a foundation.
The first one that I love is the Lumene Time Freeze CC Anti-Age Color Correcting Cream. It has a long convoluted name but it does the job like nobody’s business. I love that it dispenses through a pointed tip. Funny story! I was running late for work one morning (like usual) and I hadn’t done any makeup. We had special visitors coming that day so I HAD to do makeup. I got to work with 10 minutes to spare so I applied this onto my face straight from the tip and used a real techniques flat brush to buff it in. I didn’t realize it until after but I had 3 girls watching me do it and they were dumbfounded. They couldn’t believe how PERFECT my skin became in the matter of less than 1 minute. The method of dispension really sets this apart for me. No pumping, just squeeze.
If we are talking about favorite foundations then the IT Cosmetics CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream has to be mentioned. Not only is the coverage and finish SPECTACULAR but it also has an Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum and an SPF of 50!! Say WHAT? YES! This CC Cream has the fullest coverage that I have experienced thus far. The finish is also so natural and the most skin-line look I have seen from any foundation, BB cream, or CC Cream PERIOD! Good stuff!
The one true foundation in my favorites is the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup. I have tried tons of foundations from Giorgio Armani, NARS, Make Up For Ever, Chanel, Dior, YSL and many others but I ALWAYS go back to this one. It gives me a beautiful full-coverage finish while looking perfectly, LIGHTLY dewy. I say lightly because I have oily/combo skin and dewy for most people translates to wet/greasy on me. I want the dewy look but I can’t use what most others do. This one is the perfect balance for me. When I wear it I always get compliments. People always assume I am wearing something high end when I wear this and they are shocked to find out that it is actually from the drugstore.
Overall I am in love with these three foundations. If I had to choose from these to pick one perfect one I couldn’t. If I could combine these three foundations I would, and all of you would thank me!
