The holidays are the best time to play up your eyes with a fun, shimmery look. There are lots of occasions to wear shimmer during the holidays: work parties, get togethers with family, a night out on the town, shopping… you name it. Studio Gear Cosmetics has created a beautiful palette of shimmery shades that are quite basic in nature, but combined together they are absolutely breathe-taking! It is called Holiday!
“Be radiant on any occasion with this sultry, shimmery palette of dramatic shades – perfect for creating a classic smoky eye look, with a hint of unexpected golden glimmer. This collection of four complimentary eye shadows with matching blush deliver several day to night options that are both seductive and wearable. With pure color, pigment-rich formulations, you’ll be sure to smolder all night!” – Studio Gear Cosmetics
The palette contains 4 gorgeous eyeshadows and a blush that is to die for!
The tutorial they provide on the inside of the palette is stunning and can be played up or down. The way it guides you reminds me of a “Choose your adventure…” book! You can create an eye look that is more everyday or a vavoom look that is smoldering.
There is a white shade that reminds me of sparkling snow. It is called Frost.
A black shade that is reminiscent of Coal with a name that is likewise. Funny, it’s the naughtiest shade in the bunch and coal is what naughty boys and girls get on Christmas! ;)
The gold shade included in the palette is called Glimmer. I believe the inspiration for this shade is drawn from the glimmering lights of the holidays.
The silver shade is called Platinum and reminds be of silver bells.
The blush in the set is called Snowy Glow. The flush that you get on your cheeks from the cold is the most beautiful cheek color on earth and this does a great job at replicating it.
The pigmentation is amazing and the blendability is perfection. The texture is not soft, it is rather firm. It allows you to pick up the product without over-packing your brush and creating a lot of fallout. In fact, I was quite pleased with the lack of fallout altogether.
The shades combined make one of the most gorgeous looks I have ever seen. The folks over at Studio Gear Cosmetics knew what they were doing!
With the Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday palette you can follow the tutorial or do a look of your own. I personally play up the gold shade a bit more on the center of the lid. This palette retails for $40 but the SG site has it marked down at this moment for $25. You can take an additional 10% off this palette, as well as your entire order, with the code SGHOLIDAY.
