Sunscreen is as important in the winter as it is in the summer. I am 30, which isn’t incredibly old, but it is old enough to start worrying about protection and prevention of aging. The sun can age you faster than time if you aren’t careful. I have oily skin and the idea of adding another product to the mix sounds like a disaster but I have been using the MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Creme SPF 30 for about a month now and it actually leaves me with a matte finish and keeps my oiliness at bay. And the best part is that it is chemical free!
“This multi-functional, tinted crème, infused with ProVention-R™ antioxidants, leaves skin with an even, matte finish. The lightweight “barely-there” formula goes on silky-smooth and blends quickly and easily. Use alone or with your regular foundation for soft, smooth skin in and out of the sun.” – MD Solar Sciences
The packaging is nice and basic. It is a squeeze tube with a flip top lid. The colors of the packaging are attractive and bright. Simple is always better for me!
The formula is nice. It comes out looking a lot like a foundation or BB/CC cream but when smoothed out onto your face it really has only MINIMAL coverage and leaves a velvety feeling behind; the best part is that it also leaves no shine!
I like to apply it over my moisturizer and before my actual foundation or BB/CC cream like I would a primer. I have said before that I am not a big primer fan but I have found that this sunscreen actually does help my foundation to look perfect longer throughout the day. It really has suppressed my face’s oil production which is nice. I have always said that I love products that perform a double duty and this one protects my skin from the sun and oil! SCORE!
The active ingredient in this sunscreen is naturally derived ZnO (Ecocert) 17% + TiO2 2%. It also contains antioxidants as well as their own proprietary technology known as Pro-Vention-R. It is paraben, aminobenzioc acid, oxybenzone, octinoxate, fragrance, gluten, allergens, irritants, and animal testing free! Whew, that was quite a list! Another plus is that it is non-comodogenic (won’t clog pores)!
Overall, I think that the MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Creme SPF 30 is the best facial sunscreen I have ever tried! It protects, primes, and mattifies all while feeling weightless! It retails for $32 on the companies site as well as anywhere that sells the brand MD Solar Sciences.
