I got my Beauty Box 5 December 2013 box in the mail a few days ago and I was thrilled to see the goodies that were included. This subscription service retails for $12 a month, quarterly for $30 and an entire year for $99. Honestly, December’s box just might be my favorite so far!
The theme of this month’s box is Naughty And Nice. The insert says that they are wanting to give us a little of everything, romantic eyeshadows, alluring glosses, and fail-safe moisturizers. They definitely didn’t disappoint.
The first thing in the box was the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. This particular moisturizer is oil-free so that is a relief for those of you that have problems controlling oil production, like myself. I also love that it is .5 fl oz so it is completely travel friendly. I have been traveling A LOT this holiday season and these little sizes have saved me so much room in my overnight bag! The full size retails for $6.99, so this equates to $1.17.
The last box included a lip product from Body Drench that I have been using like crazy so I am happy to see that there the Daily Moisturizing Lotion from them in this box. The Sun Splashed Mango scent smells so good, and it is a nice change from all of the wintery scents that are in all of the lotions being released this time of year. I keep little bottles like these in my desk at work to help relieve the itchiness caused my the dry air in my office building. A full size bottle retails for $8.99, so this equates to $1.06.
I found the Every Beauty Flexible Foot Smoother to be the most interesting product in this month’s box. I have never used anything like it before. You can use it wet or dry depending on what exactly you were looking to do with it. You can rub away rough spots while it is dry, and you can go spa-style and soak your feet in warm water and then go to town. I personally will keep this in the shower and do a little scrubbing daily! This is a full size item and it retails for $4.99.
The Ofra Cosmetics Sultry Lipgloss Plumper was really nice. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it when I first saw it but when I went to apply it I was in awe. It honestly has the consistency of a liquid lipstick. It is opaque, moisturizing, and gorgeous. After I put it on this morning to snap this picture, I headed into work. I had 3 compliments before going inside the door! Love it! It is a full sized item and it retails for $12.95.
Last, but certainly not least, is the NYX Cosmetics Love in Rio Eyeshadow Palette in Swap With Lola. The shade combination is quite different, 3 shades I would never usually pair together. My mind immediately started running this dialog, “I can see how it can work. Middle shade on the lid, pink in the crease and blue on the lower lash line… More summery than wintery, but it is good…” The shades are pretty pastels. I quite like them all. They were a bit powdery but once rubbed from my fingertips onto the back of my hand they were as smooth as butter. And I didn’t wash my hand off before leaving for work and I admit that the shades were there for a couple hours before I washed them off, so longevity was good! This is also full size and retails for $6.
Sneak Peak for January’s Box!
December 2013’s Beauty Box 5 definitely didn’t disappoint. My box added up to $26.17 worth of products, and I will get use out of them all. I personally love the foot scrubby and the lipgloss. Big hits in my book! If you haven’t signed up yet, totally check it out! I have gotten 3 boxes now and they have all been chock full of great items!
