Smoky eyes are one of my all-time favorite looks. Honestly… I always set out to do something subtle and before you know it I end up at a smoky eye. They are just fun, sexy, and (believe it or not) fairly easy.
For this look I was determined to use my MAC eyeshadows. It has been months since I really cracked open my MAC eyeshadow palette and I really wanted to use some ole trusty favorites.
I also wanted to do a brighter lipstick with a smoky eye. I ALWAYS gravitate towards nudes but I wanted to do a look that was a bit more fun and exciting. I think these lips paired with the eye look perfectly.
So anyway, I know you are all probably wondering which products I used.
Face:
IT Cosmetics bronzer
Lips:
No7 Poppy Queen Number Three Glamour Lipstick
Eyes:
MAC Copperplate on lid
MAC Mystery to blend out Copperplate
Soap n Glory tan/nude eyeshadow to blend out Mystery
MAC Handwritten to deepen the outer-v and crease
MAC Nylon on inner corners and brow bone (blended to high heaven to get rid of super-shimmer)
L’Oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black
MAC Mystery on brows
I created this look while experimenting. For whatever reason I never thought to pair greys and browns together like I did in this look. I would typically pair greys with black. Because I am taupe-obsessed, I am surprised I never thought about it before… They pair perfectly and I am positive this will be a go-to look for me in the future.
I hope you like the look I came up with and I encourage you to start making Friday’s your go-to Smoky Eye Day. I am participating in a link up with this post and you will be able to see lots of lovely eye looks by some fabulous bloggers. I am going to make a real effort to participate every Friday, but I know I will skip it from time to time.
